I know, right? It was that or else fey demons. If it helps, he thinks the voice in the back of his head is Kord. Thus radiant attacks. Star pact seems all about intimidating the shit out of things, seems in line with Kord. Invoke terror in thine enemies and all that.

Better attacks. Most of my attacks are based on charisma damage, not strength.

Because the combination of halfling + cleric conspires to gimp the fuck out of your weapon options, mostly.

Weapon proficiency gives you the +2 (or +3 sometimes) proficiency bonus to hit with the weapon in question. You can use weapons without proficiency but the game largely assumes you don't so without proficiency you might do more damage but you'll miss more often than not.

But it's a MAGIC dagger. It's more effective when I attack anything bigger than a small dog!

No, that's weapon focus which is a whole other thing, but you could get Weapon Focus Dagger if you just wanted to improve the damage on your dagger I guess.
