Just to refresh my memory, is a healing surge a minor or major action? Clearly Bob doesn't want to die but equally he doesn't want to not throw spells at people. Can he heal-spell-move or just heal-move?

Second Wind is a standard action (unless you're a dwarf, etc)

Wait, I thought healing surge was different than second wind. I'm confused now.

Okay, let's review! =D

A second wind includes a healing surge, and also temporarily boosts your defenses. However, in combat you cannot access your healing surges directly; they have to be triggered by a Second Wind, or a Healing Word, or whatever.

Your case is a little different since Healing Word is a minor action, so you could theoretically do that.

I'll just modify my action. Can I attack and Second Wind, but not move? Or am I only allowed one Major Action at a go, and can move regardless of whether I attack or heal myself?

(And in addition to that you could use your action point for an additional action of any kind, if you wanted)
