Seems the faster moving blades doesn't help all that much, as it still takes a while to populate them with content. I do like the faster appearance of it, though.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Update was worthless.

When I first read about the fact that the newest update was going to speed the GUI up, I thought it was an answer to the smoothness and practicality of the XMB...Microsoft's concept of improvement is akin to hitting the start bar on a 166 MHz computer, and waiting 10 seconds for the menu items to show up. Thanks for nothing.

The bio addition is cool, though. Now I get to spam my equipment.

Curiously, I just updated my 360. Now once I sign into Live, it just hangs there loading, doesn't load anything I've waited 5 minutes now and nothing it just shows a load logo on all things that are incorporated into online, this excluding the games blade and the system blade... Any idea whats wrong... i'd hate if this update messed up my 360.

Additional Spam:
Nevermind my previous post, a simple reset worked, still took long to load up but it worked.

How ya doing, buddy?

Just as a heads-up, Xbox Originals are region-locked. No Puyo Puyo Fever for Ameri-gaijins.

That makes me very sad

The rest of the update is great though. I love the faster Guide glade, and everything organized into categories is extremely nice.

They already have that for starting up the console, unless you're talking about something else.

To change the settings for Startup:

From the Main Blades, Navigate to System -> Console Settings -> Startup -> Xbox Dashboard.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

I don't see why it's so hard to simply not close the tray, unless you're worried about someone running into your console while the tray is open.

Only up startup. If it's already running, and you put in a disc, the disc autoloads.
Hmm, well typically when I put a game into the 360, I want to play it.
When I do NOT want to play a game, I leave it in its case. Its a simple system and it works.

Maybe this crazy & bizzare behavior is just something I do

Yeah, what she said.

I will often start up my 360 by pressing the eject button and putting in what disc I plan on playing, which unless done very fast, will skip the dashboard. But I don't want to immediately get into the game, I want to chill out in marketplace and check out my thousands of fan messages first.

Hey guys.
I cut it pretty close, today was the last day for the trade in deal. I think it's a dodgy old 360 or something with the rusty horse shoe motherboard that'll implode or whatever. I dunno. Oh well surely Microsoft Australia can't be as bad as Nintendo Australia if/when it fucks up. It has a HDMI port, yet the box and manual make no mention of it. Good stuff. Good thing I'm only hooking it up to a knock-off brand SD TV. I can't see the text at all in Dead Rising and Forza lolol.

Fun times! No idea when I'll take it online. One day, ONE DAY! Is Burnout Paradise out yet? No? Why not?

XBOX 360 is the breakfast of champions.

Infernal Monkey, I just saw an interview with the chief game designer for the New Bionic Commando and I am pretty happy with the way the game seems to be coming along. It's clear that he is going to great lengths to keep the essence of the game-play and story-line intact. PROPS.
The grappling system seems fairly fluid but only time will tell. The graphics look incredible, even for an X360 game. I heard a few reprisals from the original BC soundtrack integrated into the re-make and it sounded splendid. I wonder how much music they will be bringing over from the NES version? Hopefully all of it!

I think I am going to need to pick up an XBO360 just for BC.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

72 hours?! Ooooohh *prances around on the spot nervously*

Viva Pinata seems.. kinda.. shit. ;_; Forza is amazing though! It's like a more forgiving Race Driver/TOCA (run into the back of someone in that and the entire universe basically ceases to exist). Oh yeah my bloody hard drive came loaded with like four hundred thousand trial Arcade games, a demo of Lego Star Wars (why) and various other lumps of useless. I was wondering why it was only showing up as 10 GB free. SURPRISE.

EARTH DEFENCE FORCE 2017 IS GOTY FOREVER.

The required shit takes up 7 of your 20 gigs, so even after wiping the damn thing, you're looking at only 13 or so gigs free. Totally horseshit, I know.

Can't wait for lolarity Forza races though. Wheeeee. Haven't played with the OBJECTIONMOBILE in quite some time.

Also apparently Burnout demo on like the 13th. I got hard in the pants at this news. Makes my week. Better than Christmas, etc.

Does anyone know if they're gonna be making MGS 2: Substance backwards compatible? Ever since I got my 360, I've been waiting and waiting and still no MGS 2. Anyway, has anyone even used the Friends of Friends thing?

Backwards compatibility updates are issued twice a year, I believe. There's no way to ascertain which titles will be added to the backwards compatibility list, so, really, it's just wait and see.

You can find MGS2: Substance dirt cheap in the bargin bin @ gamestop for the PS2. I'd go with that, unless for some reason you don't have a PS2

I haven't yet, but I should, given all the GFF people I could be playing on Ace Combat and Call of Duty 4.

Also in case people don't read my journal: I recently picked up Crimson Skies [Xbox], and Call of Duty 4 and Bioshock [360]. I think I'm almost done with Bioshock, but I'm not sure.

Oh that's nasty, the ability to download it just VANISHING in front of you once you've been caught out. I mean, I'd like to play Psychonauts, but the PAL version is 5.3 GB, and the US version is 3.xx GB. It's probably fully voiced in all 5 required languages for your typical PAL game.

Psychonauts isn't even on the Japanese marketplace. There's Magatama and Puyo Puyo Fever instead. Neither of those which I'm really interested in. *sigh*

On the bright side this means that undoubtedly JSRF, Panzer Dragoon Orta, Otogi 1 and 2, Ninja Gaiden Black, and so on, will reach Xbox Originals. Are they going to be updating every <certain time> with new games like Virtual Console?

Don't worry, I have hardly seen any of the GFF people on my list playing CoD4 lately, and we almost never play AC6 {just like the rest of earth apparently, since it seems next to impossible to find a match on it when you're by yourself}.

So you're not really missing out on anything.

It'll be periodically updated, just like Xbox Live Arcade titles and Xbox 360 game demos. The updates will probably be announced a little less than a week in advance (like XBLA games), and then be available the following Wednesday.

I really hope both Otogi titles and GunValkyrie make it on there, since they still aren't backwards compatible.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.
