Judging from your username, would I be right in guessing you are too? The tat itself is pretty small, but It's there now. I've convinced myself that at some point I'm gonna steal a tat idea from FF7, It's something I've been thinking about for ages. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Locke: "Hey! Call me a Treasure Hunter, or I’ll rip your lungs out!" |
Actually, I was born in September. Username is actually another way of saying October 15th.
I've thought about tattoos like that. For Star Wars, FFVII, maybe even LOTR. It's just hard to pull off without looking like a geek. I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |

It's in the middle of my back. It's my first and only one, and -- I will admit it -- it hurt like a bitch since it's black and directly over my spine.
As for the symbol itself . . . it's a long story. What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

She is loud and wayward, her feet do not stay at home; now in the street, now in the market, and at every corner she lies in wait." - Proverbs |
What is it, Egyptian? I can see why it hurt, it probably touched your spine and bolding something like that in takes time.

Thanks! Yeah, it's Omega. Things ending and whatnot.
Oh, and the red marks in the picture are from a Sharpie. I'd just taken the bandage off for the first time. Jam it back in, in the dark.

I've been thinking about getting a blue Slime from Dragon Warrior/Quest for a while now (on my back somewhere), but I'm too much of a sissy bitch to go through with it.

I should be ashamed of myself for not knowing that. The Omicron should be ripped from my name.

Always beware the woman who tries to convince you to go under a needle upon first meeting. It leads to many places, none of them good. Well, none of them safe, at any rate. That being said, if you get one, you'll wind up with several. The endrophins aside, the first time you take off a piece of clothing and catch a glimpse of your body art in the mirror, you'll want more. That never goes away. I was speaking idiomatically. ![]() John Mayer just asked me, personally, through an assistant, to sing backup on his new CD. |
Oh Denicalis, you saw right through me, you rascal.
But seriously, they are quite fun once you've actually gotten through the first one. What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

Really? I had no issues with the first one. I actually really enjoyed it. The artist was doing long lines, basically sped through some black filled script on my upper back. He did the whole thing in about twenty minutes. The ache was fantastic. It's almost hypnotic.

Heh, I have issues with my back so it was a pretty weird experience getting my spine and both shoulder blades done. Granted, it's not a huge ink, but the only parts that didn't hurt were the two little patches of skin between the bone. And with black, as you probably know, you just have to go over it and over it and over it . . .
So of course I'm completely in love with solid black tattoos, and will only get those. I shrug. What, you don't want my bikini-clad body?

I have to agree on the solid black tattoos. Cant speak from any experience, but If I got one I would only have black. The color seems unnatural (if that makes any sense), and kindy jokey. I also heard it needs to be touched up more often if it has color.

If I were to go through with it, what part of the back would be a good place to put it that doesn't hurt as much? I was thinking about between my shoulder blades, but apparently it hurts worse there because of the spine.

I'd love to hear the story behind the omega, Harlot. Tattoo stories are always pretty interesting.

I would just like to say that it's amusing to see people casually addressing someone as "Harlot."
Y'know, I thought about getting my lip pierced, until my brother pointed out that doing this would drastically shrink my pool of eligible boyfriends. I realized, with much sadness, that he was right. Maybe this should be a piercing thread, too? Most amazing jew boots |
Lip piercings are really cool, but only on certain people. Same goes for basically all piercings. If you really want to get it, you may as well go ahead and try it. It's not permanent, like a tattoo, anyway.
What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
Piercings are so fucked up, in that they change how they look with every person. Some people can pull a labret piercing no problem, and others just look trashy with it. You never know until you see it on the body, really.

I agree with Deni here. I figure that if im gonna get a permanent addition to my body in one specific place Im not gonna comprimise where due to pain.
Think of the pain as a bonding experience with your new art. Most amazing jew boots ![]() |
Exactly. The pain lasts nothing compared to the end result. One day I'll get something on my upper back, covering the entire shoulder blade area. I think the best thing there would be something that's symetrical though. Not just anything. It's one cool place for Mexican's to put their Aztec Calendar since it's circular.
Hmm, Harlot. Don't think I've ever not wanted to go after a girl just because of a pierced lip. I think a pierced tongue's worse than that as far as my perception on trashy goes. The one thing I can't stand are pierced nipples. Jam it back in, in the dark. |
Bump!
So i've been considering for quite a few months about getting a tattoo. I want it to be a dragon, i've always had a thing for dragons. So at first I wanted just a simple tribal design type, and I wanted to draw it myself so I could make sure it's absolutely PERFECT and customised to my liking. Here's how the design has developed over the past year: ![]() ![]() ![]() After re-designing it for so long and looking at it for that amount of time I just couldn't seem to be fully happy with it. Then my friend got a detailed dragon tattoo, which just inspired me to scrap the tribal look and go for a more detailed approach. So now, my design currently looks like this: ![]() It's a first sketch of it, but i'm really pleased with it so far. I've always loved angel wings, whenever I drew people i'd stick a pair of angel wings on them for some stupid reason. So now i'm extremely happy how i've got the kind of strong metallic look of a dragon wing as well as the feathers. And yes, I used the FFX Bahamut art as a guide. I want the tattoo to be placed on my right shoulder, the edge of the longest tip of wing to trace along the shoulder blade and the body would just reach the part before my spine. It's gonna hurt, and it's gonna take a while since i'm going with a shaded design, but hopefully it'll look good. Here is a tattoo i've designed for my best friend, who is actually going out and getting it in the very near future. Seeing my design on someone is going to be such a huge honour, and also quite strange! ![]() There's nowhere I can't reach. |
Wow, those are really good.
I like the tribal design only because really detailed tattoos usually look too busy. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. ![]() |
