I like guys that are shy. Maybe it's because where I live/lived. But all the out going guys are jerks.
I agree with Boobet though. They should at least have an opinion.

I find I'm more attracted to the quiet type, not necessarily shy. shy guys are cute to an extent [mostly just in the beginning], but usually it's because of a lack of confidence rather than just being the introverted type, which can become annoying after a while if you're trying to figure out how they feel about you.

quiet guys on the other hand are just that: quiet. just because they aren't constantly chatting someone up doesn't mean they are incapable of conversation or opening up to anyone or are afraid of giving their opinion.

I'm a quiet person, but I'm also sociable. it's a good balance to have, so I find I'm attracted to people of a similar demeanor. I don't want to be able to read you like a book within ten minutes of meeting you, and since I don't open up to people right away it'd be nice to be with someone who goes along at the same pace as me. trying to figure someone out is half the fun anyways.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

I would think, to get to that point, they would have had to of spent some time together which made that person feel ready to be more open. By that time the two would probably have a good understanding of each other, so hopefully they will of developed some strong foundations. Otherwise if the two didn't find anything about eachother that they especially liked or if they didn't get along/found enough things in common then it probably wasn't meant to be anyway.

I think alot of the time its about trust. If the person finds they can be themself with that person, warts and all, and they still like them. Then that shy aspect may fall away as they become comfortable with the person.
Not true always of course.

I don't mind shy guys, just as long as they talk eventually. I'm shy myself, so if I have to make conversation every time, or he closes up and only answers with one word sentences, that will definately annoy me.

Personally, as long as we have a good conversation going, it doesn't matter if he's a leader or not. *shrugs*

I was speaking idiomatically.

I can't generalize shy guys as a whole because like any other guy, there's a variety of them. I find an attraction towards them only if they approach me first, or if they show some sort of attraction for me. And then get to know me better in some way.

So bottom line, shy around others, but comfortable around me is a big turn on.

How ya doing, buddy?

I have to agree with you. Woman that can look past the shyness are usually the woman worth dating. Sometimes it just takes a fun-loving girl to open a guy up, and usually that's when an actual connection between is formed.

how DO you know that theyre ACTUALLY shy? it could just be u for all that matters!!
well,i do know this particular "shy" guy, and after a while of knowing his existence, he turns out to be super talented in art. i guess its the only way of expressing himself or something, since his sooooo shy. My mother used to always tell em that listening and observing if much wiser than blurting every detail of ur life.
and i agree to most of you, shy guys are nice. i dont really mind them, its just that if i were o be in a serious relationship with them, then there has to be an extent to how shy they are.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

I think the true reason some of you gals like shy guys is so you have control. TOTAL CONTROL.
