I'd prefer a mic in the controller so it would simulate a hand radio (perfect for online multiplayer games), a headset would only drain the wallet more...
There's nowhere I can't reach. |
The DS/Wii Connectivity has a lot of potential. There are just so many possibilities that I can't even begin to think. Pokemon Battle Revolution looks fantastic. and all this is coming at a cost of < $250. Life is good. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
I never thought it could happen, but i think i might end up back into pokemon. I figured after Gold and Silver i was done, and out grown them. But latley i've been itching for some poke action, and new stuff. I think i'm going to have to invest in Pokemon Battle Revolution, and potentially Diamond and Pearl.

I just got the new issue of Edge today (their e3 report took forever) and there was something I hadn't seen reported elsewhere, regarding the Virtual Console and the controller.
![]() If this is to really happen, I for one would be extremely happy, while I'd guess a good quantity of people would feel extremely ripped off about even more separately sold add-ons. Great (possible) news for retro nuts in either case. How ya doing, buddy? ![]() |
I saw the controller a while back (ona Wiki page I believe).
I still dont see how one could replicate the N64 controller in any other way. What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
As in, you could buy a SNES controller replica, or an N64 controller replica for the Wii and plug it in the Wiimote, just like the classic controller. FELIPE NO ![]()

Oh my god. This better not be some cruel joke.
If this is true, then Nintendo has pulled off a definite win. Original style controls to go with the original games. This is pure heaven. This would take the cake. That's an NES, SNES, N64, Genesis controller. I'm not sure what the other one is though. But regardless, this would just own everything else PS3 or 360 try to pull. Nintendo Owns Life. What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
Yes, Nintendo FTW. Jam it back in, in the dark. |

I just hope if they do this, they keep it accurate and release the SNES controller over here in Europe in the correct (Japanese) colors and not the US style. ![]() EDIT: owned by Jazz~ This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. ![]() |
![]() Though it does look somewhat more homosexual.....but let's not go into that.... ![]() I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body?

I know it's totally pushing it, but it'd be sweet if those replicas came packed in with Wii. But, I don't even see them selling these seperately. I mean, why create a seperate, all in one, classic Wii controller if you're gonna have the actual older controllers available?
What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? ![]() |
Just a guess....but possibly, they could bundle the all-in-one controller with the Wii system, and then sell the others separately. At the same time, people could trade in older SNES/N64/Genesis or whatever controllers to get one that's compatible with the Wii for free. A stretch, yes, but a possibility maybe?
Alternatively, they could bundle cables so that you can use your old ones to hook up to the Wiimote. Be much easier rather than remake an old controller. I dunno, it's just wild speculation now. FELIPE NO |
It's possible they won't go ahead with them in the end, but I like the idea of giving people the option, cause I sure as hell want to play my N64 games on the proper controller. What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? ![]() |
My guess is if these are sold at all they would be available online through Nintendo's website. It wouldn't be logical to sell these through retail outlets unless they sell extremely well online and even then it's a crapshoot b/c you might have already expended the demand of such a niche market.
My guess is that if Nintendo doesn't go through with it (which they should) then 3rd party companies will come up with a better all-in-one solution classic controller (and they'd only need to add two more buttons on the face which is complete lol at Nintendo for not already figuring it out) or their own versions of retro controllers or snazzed up versions of retro controllers. Jam it back in, in the dark. |
Perhaps have some bundles where if you buy game X on the VC, you get controller X as well?
(Costs of course would be higher than buying the game alone) There's nowhere I can't reach. ![]() |

The retro controllers are an awesome idea that I think we speculated on wayyyy back when we first heard of the VC. It's great they're going to do this, even though I would probably only get the N64 one. I hope they release a plug adapter so you can use your current ones, though.
It would be nice if you bought a retro controller, it came with credit towards VC games on that particular system. That would atleast give people some more inscentive to buy them other than them being totally kick ass. I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? ![]() |
I showed a few people the Wii e3 video, responses were mixed, but the majority thought it was a decent way to play games (the one that had a positive comment by nearly all was the sword part

So help me god the thing below the circle looks like a DS slot. If Nintendo has finally given me the ability to play portable games on my tv out of the box, I will shit myself, literally!

I wonder what that small "eye" is for. In the comments of the news it has been speculated that it might be a camera or a projector. What do you think? My guess is that it's a device to project 3D things into your room. I just can't imagine Nintendo to rip-off Sony's EyeToy. They wouldn't do such a thing... What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
I noe I noe it's IGN but here's some food for thought. Jam it back in, in the dark. |

I'm not in the mood to google this technology, so can someone please enlighten me as to how 3d projection would hypothetically be implemented in gameplay.
