Live CD Recording

I was thinking about something and wondering if something like this existed.

Is there a stand alone CD Recorder that records from line-in? I mean it functions like a tape-deck, only it records to CDs instead of 4-track tapes. And no computers...we're keeping this simplistic.

Does something like this exist? Or would you just have to use a DVD Recorder that would be willing to record w/o the video input?

No, mini disc won't work as the purpose I was thinking of was for recording a performance, and with it being on CDs being able to make quick copies. Like for instance, a church service.

No. I was just using a church service as a idea reference. I know a lot of them are doing recordings of services but still on 4-track. Given the cost of blank CDs going way way down I was wondering if there was a way to do it that would be simple.

Just think of it as a geek trying to stay on top of technology.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.
