Nobody's at S29. You're at X29, with the big goofy mustache.

Well, if we're going to be honest not a whole lot that was interesting has happened since (hopefully I have learned my lesson about trying to design my own dungeons), but Brigid's unfortunate end ought at least be summarized. I'll try to take care of it in the next couple days if no-one else gets to it.

I have given the following lecture about 10 times now, so I'll keep it brief.

LeHah, if you glance at your character wiki you'll see a section labeled At-Will Powers. These are all specific techniques you can use with your weapon (in your case, the bastard sword). While it's perfectly acceptable within the rules to just make a generic sword swing, it's significantly less tactically interesting. Each of your powers modifies your attack in some way to make it distinct. Brash Strike boosts your attack bonus, Cleave gives you a chance to hit multiple targets, and so on.

The green powers are At-Wills; you can use them freely at any time, just as you would freely use "I swing my weapon at that guy".

The red powers are Encounter powers; you can use each once per encounter.

The black powers are Daily powers; you can use each once per adventuring day.

Every player has stumbled over this, and every time I forget to explain it in advance. I blame myself

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

They only have the one hit point, and attacks which normally do damage even on a miss don't damage them on a miss (because instakilling things by missing would be unspeakably lame).

That's about it!

Man I'd rather have joke-mode over no-mode

which is the mode in which there is no battle

because a bitch can't be bothered to show up

Yeah but this is your basic laughably-easy-but-with-environmental-doodads tutorial fight, again

I made sure to not include a doorway this time, so they can't all hide behind it

I was speaking idiomatically.

80 feet (or roughly 16 vertical squares); the crow's nest is at 60 feet (or 12 squares)

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

Generally I've just been granting combat advantage (+2) for having the high ground.

As far as the enemy mage's range goes that is need-to-know basis metagame information

PS there's no rule against casting spells one-handed

Soggy's top climb speed is 3, so theoretically only two turns, if you spent two moves a turn climbing.

Just an attack roll with the proficiency bonus removed and the damage roll cut in half.

Oh cool, I assumed that as a staff is two handed you'd need both hands for spells. A staff is two handed right?
A staff is a two-handed weapon, but as an implement it only requires you hang on to the damn thing.

LeHah if you have the free time to start yet another retarded 360 vs PC platform squabble you have the free time to take your turn.

Alright whichever one of you on staff put LeHah into some surreal user category where nothing works right please put him back

I have enough problems

Additional Spam:
or, wait, do thread subscriptions not work in the Basement? I think I read something to that effect somewhere, something to do with Werewolf

Pang, what's Bob's maximum range with his longbow? Has he actually got a hope of hitting someone sixty foot above him and a good twenty feet distant?

A longbow's effective range is about 40 squares at maximum so really the main thing stopping you from hitting anyone with it is that Bob is kind of crap at the whole "using weapons" business.

They're attached via grappling hooks, as I believe I mentioned. Besides cutting them one could ostensibly make a strength check to pull the hook out or, yeah, burn the rope. The ropes are... let's see, tiny, immobile object... with a clear line of sight, AC/Reflex 10.

Additional Spam:
Also, I'm just going to go ahead and wait for your turn before I update since Lehah's inadvertently made the timeline a bit wobbly anyway

Ahahah, by no means was I volunteering to continue during the meet, I was just half-hoping someone else would pick up the slack so I didn't have to perform CPR on the game when I come back.

They would irritate pretty much every NPC they encountered and would live lives of endless blood-soaked mayhem as a result of being completely unable to integrate into normal society

So business as usual in the Horde mostly

One year and you only managed to kill one player? Pfft.
Well henceforth I'll be using lurker's suggestion to withhold any deus ex machinas until somebody's already been killed, so the murder train should be picking up speed very shortly.

I hope everyone realizes the pirate battle was intentionally easy to let LeHah get his feet wet, so don't expect any more cannons to be left lying around for your convenience.

Skills, while Deni had not kept us waiting anywhere near 48 hours I have accepted your post as canon on the basis that it's massively hilarious

I am a malicious DM yes but killing people in a skill challenge, really? It's a boat, not the motherfuckin' Tomb of Horrors.

Also, if one person has tested a skill, can someone else check the same one? I mean, can Bob use history as Soggy already has?
Sure, Bob can use History. It's just that Soggy can't use it again.
