I only had about 20 minutes to try this out this morning since it took my 360 about half an hour to download the demo, but good lord is it fun. I wasn't really expecting anything spectacular from it and planned to just get it eventually, but now it's going to be a day one purchase. Haven't tried online yet, so I'll embarass myself there tonight.

Like Inhert said, we need to get a team together for some GFF zombie busting.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Currently grabbing the demo (on 360) for this, and I already have a pre-order down, but I am now wondering if there's going to be enough GFFers on the 360 version, hopefully so.
That's a good point. The first post of this thread needs a tally of who's going 360 and who's going PC. I get the feeling that most will go with the PC version, which would be inconvenient.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

I've concluded that playing offline is a waste of time. Sure it counts towards Achievements, but if you die your game starts over. I guess they assume a bunch of bots will see their fallen comrade and shoot themselves out of despair instead of trying to make it as far as possible.
The bots don't have any problems with deserting you once the rescue chopper lands, though. I played through No Mercy tonight on Normal, and I stayed by the machine gun for a more seconds to make sure the coast was clear. When I jumped down I was immediately mobbed by so many zombies that movement was completely impossible, but the bots kept running for the chopper and left me to die. I had almost shoved myself free when the helicopter took off leaving me for dead, dedicating the credits in my memory.

Anyone with the 360 version up for a game tomorrow (Thursday) night? I still haven't gotten a chance to try it out online yet.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

As far as I know the 360 version doesn't have any menus for voice commands, so mic-less people can't communicate at all. I kick anyone without a mic when starting a game now since generally they always seem to do their own thing and ignore what's being said. There are plenty of reasons why people may not be able to use mics, but they're always such a drain on everyone else that I've stopped putting up with it.

Yeah, that was me. I haven't been able to find anything mentioning the patch preventing that from working, but I did find this alternate method that I'm going to try out later. I didn't realize it was possible to change the difficulty back and forth in the middle of a level to easily kill off the AI players.

Well, it worked fine for me just now. It took three tries before the tank showed up where the video said it would, but at least it gave me the achievement. The other two times it was a witch.

Also, not going to get to play at all this (long) weekend since my girlfriend is coming over.
Just "accidentally" hit her in the face again. That should clear the weekend up for some zombie hunting.

I haven't played in awhile, but I'm always up for a good zombie massacre. Plarom, Omagnus, and LeHah also have the 360 version, so there's no shortage of teammates even though most people around here bought it for PC.

I'm up for some zombie killing as long as it isn't during Heroes. I never get around to actually watching stuff on Hulu later.

Count me in for some hot zombie action. How about 9-10pm EST?

I'm down for some zombie hunting on either day, though I'd prefer Saturday.

I'm up for trying it again. My internet is pretty hit or miss. Some nights no problems, others I get disconnected just long enough to drop me from everything every hour or so.

I'm interested if we can get a full crew going. You guys usually have 4 already, and I don't really want to be the only one teamed up with randoms or something.

I would've joined when Tails invited yesterday, but I was already busy playing a different game. Plus my internet was having an off-day, flickering a lot.

I could be up for some L4D tonight, but any games would have to be over before the radio show around 9:45.

I was actually about to turn it off and go fix something for dinner, but I'm up for some Left 4 Dead afterwards.

I'd play more often, but you've usually got a full team already by the time I notice you're playing. We need to get more of these 8 player versus matches going, since that's where the real fun is.

It's crap that 360 people have to pay for it, but not unexpected. I'll gladly pay $7 for a new campaign, though. A nice surprise that they would actually bother releasing a DLC campaign now that Left 4 Dead 2 is coming so soon.

Gamestop, and maybe other places too, provide a preorder code that will give early access to the L4D2 demo on XBLA.

I'm thinking of preordering this at Best Buy while I'm there tomorrow for their B2G1 free sale. Their preorder boxes contain a $10 off coupon for the game.

That wasn't posted until after 8pm last night, so I wouldn't expect the PC demo to be up until 5-8pm tonight. I don't know which coast Valve is on.

You know I'm up for some hot zombie action. It would be nice if we could get a full GFF group together so we don't have to sit around for half an hour waiting for the matchmaking to work.

Dedicated servers that actually work and don't have us playing Chip's Challenge 2: Zombie Time? Miraculous!

What Skills said. 8 on 8 with some lengthier maps would be insane. Then again, with the way L4D2's matchmaking is it would also take a couple of hours just to get enough people together.

The race to be not-Rochelle becomes more extreme.
