Fishing games?
Has anyone played any fishing games on the PS2 or Xbox? Like Pro Fishing Challenge or Rapala Fishing? I've always wondered if people who enjoy fishing in RL would bother playing a fishing game on a console... or if you didn't fish in RL, would you be interested in fishing at all?
I tried the fishing thing in FFXI and didn't like it so that's about as close as I've gotten to playing an actually fishing gamae. Anyways, I was asked to do a little research on this... so if you have any experience, I appreciate the feedback ![]() Jam it back in, in the dark. |
I played with Dark Cloud 2's fishing segments. It's very fun and does fishing far better than Sonic Adventure ever did.
The fact that you can level up your fishing rod makes it far more interesting. All it takes is some knowledge and paitence to catch most fish, and catching a huge kaji is always fun. There's nowhere I can't reach. |
I played a game on the Dreamcast called Sega Bass Fishing 2. It was one of the first games I managed to try out when I purchased the DC, but I remember spending hours playing. I've never gone fishing in real life though.

Nothing will ever beat King Salmon. Damn, I need to go play it now. The music that plays when you reel in a fish is among the most awesome in any video game.
I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
The best fishing game is the subgame from Breath of Fire 4 with the one from BoF3 a close second. I've wasted hours of my life playing both of those.
The Dreamcast bass fishing game was pretty cool too though, especially if you had the fishing rod controller with a motion sensor in so you could actually cast. I go real life fishing occasionally but it's more of an excuse to sit outside, drink beer and take drugs really, we rarely catch much. I was speaking idiomatically. ![]() ![]() |
Legend of the River King for gameboy has always been fun. Made by Natsume, the creators of Harvest Moon. It has RPG elements so its a fun grab if you're into that.
What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
Guys, this is the best fishing game ever:
![]() I don't even like fishing, and I used to always play this (and part 1) when I was a kid. I think it's supposed to be realistic or something but I never cared much for that, since catching fish is a blast. FELIPE NO ![]() |
I don't know if I'd want to play a fishing game... unless it had some interesting gameplay. It would be nice to learn about what bait catches what, do it can be educational at the same time. Otherwise, sitting around and waiting for a bite can get boring.... especially indoors in front of a tv.
What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
