Wireless Router not Connecting to Internet
Alright, I'm pretty confused about my new internet problem... for the past year we've kept our modem and wireless router in the same place and everythings worked pretty well (aside from my computer being in the lower signal range, but thats really not the point at all). I moved the router and modem into a different room and now I can't seem to get the internet to work with the router.
The modem works fine when its directly connected to my computer, and when it is connected to the router I can get onto the wireless network, but the internet doesn't seem to work... While I could live without the internet wirelessly, it makes using my laptop a lot more inconvenient. I'll probably just keep my desktop wireless if at all possible since it's not even a foot away, it already has a wireless card, and I don't feel like finding another Ethernet cable, heh.
I've tried rebooting the router, resetting it to the factory default settings, using Windows XP's repair feature, assiging the actual IP to the router (it worked for a while, but I left and came back and it was out, plus its been on the dynamic IP setting for as long as we've been using the router), and I've tried googling for solutions, but basically only come up with problems with loosing internet randomly vs not having internet at all.
My sister (she lives elsewhere) just got a wireless router and she's having similar issues (though after messing around it seems like her computer directly connected to the router can't connect to the router... so thats a different problem all together).
So yeah, my router is a D-Link Dl-614+ if thats an issue... Thankupo for any help.
EDIT:
For some reason, it randomly started working again... so no need for this anymore...
Jam it back in, in the dark.
