Advertising reaches a new low
It's rare that I read about the latest internet meme in the Washington Post before I see it anywhere else, but such was the case with this:
When I posted this in chat, SuperNova thought it was a parody, but sadly, it joins the Comfort Wipe in the pantheon of tasteless products. According to the Post article, MSNBC showed the commercial one time before pulling it. So what's the deal? Who buys this crap? Are there even worse products/commercials, especially in other countries? Jam it back in, in the dark. |
Apparently it works on someone, otherwise it wouldn't be there. It's kinda like popup advertising on the internet. SOMEONE is sucked in by it.
And yeah, seriously I'm like "well it's not that funny, but it's not real". Then nutty told me what was up, and I kinda just facepalmed. I just wanna know who actually names themselves Doc Bottoms. There's nowhere I can't reach. I have nothing clever to put here. |
It looks like its not even that crazy of an idea - a general purpose spray that kills odor producing bacterial. I could even see people purchasing it if worked, and the commericals and product came across well. However, the whole thing is so pathetically tasteless ( Green gas out of a plumber's ass? wtf.)
This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
