Some more nominations would be pretty snazzy. ![]() There's nowhere I can't reach. |
I'm totally copping out this week. I loved seven of the tracks. I toyed with giving out six one-pointers and calling it a day. Anyway, a fantastic week.
(2 points) XEXEX - Happy Daymare (6 Stage BGM1 <Before Warp>): Love, love the laid-back guitar shredding in the latter half of the song. (1 point) AirForce Delta (GBC Game Rip) - Track 8: The warbling chiptune sound is a minor nuisance but everything else is golden. (1 point) Microcosm (Sega CD Red Book Audio) - Egoniaga: Interesting melding of an action sound with some lighter lead synths. (1 point) Riviera ~The Promised Land~ Full Arrange Soundtrack - Mireno, The Underground Cemetery: A tad cliched but still admirable work. (1 point) Total Distortion (Game Rip) - You Are Dead: Capital 'I' innovation. Love the idea and execution. Just missed (and I mean just): Sense Off ~A Sacred Story in the Wind~ Original Soundtrack & Perfect Drama - Cosmic Run; de Blob Original Soundtrack - Splashback (Defiant) Edit: Hey, here's a nomination. I hope it's obscure enough for everyone. Nomination: Album: Jade Empire Composer: Jack Wall Title: Anthem of the Tyrant Track Number: 08 Year: 2005 Catalog Number: SE-2017-2 Source: vgmdb.net Double Edit: I forgot to upload the track this weekend, I can do it when I get home tonight. How ya doing, buddy? |
2 Points de Blob Original Soundtrack - Splashback (Defiant)
1 Point Sense Off ~A Sacred Story in the Wind~ Original Soundtrack & Perfect Drama - Cosmic Run The Prodigy (C64 Game Rip) - Title ![]() Total Distortion (Game Rip) - You Are Dead ![]() 3 Points - XEXEX - Happy Daymare (6 Stage BGM1 <Before Warp>) I was speaking idiomatically. |
3 Points: Microcosm (Sega CD Red Book Audio) - Egoniaga
1 Point: de Blob Original Soundtrack - Splashback (Defiant) 1 Point: Sense Off ~A Sacred Story in the Wind~ Original Soundtrack & Perfect Drama - Cosmic Run 1 Point: XEXEX - Happy Daymare (6 Stage BGM1 <Before Warp>) The last section in Splashback (Defiant) sounds like something straight off an Emerson, Lake & Palmer album. Pretty groovy. What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
3 points: Sense Off ~A Sacred Story in the Wind~ Original Soundtrack & Perfect Drama - Cosmic Run
2 points: de Blob Original Soundtrack - Splashback (Defiant) 1 point: Total Distortion (Game Rip) - You Are Dead A good weak, if a bit underwhelming when compared to the previous couple. The entire de Blob soundtrack is great, and "Splashback (Defiant)" is a great representation of the music; and "You Are Dead" is entertaining, funny and surprisingly catchy. The XEXEX track is a great cheese-fest, though that one repeated melody line really annoyed me in the end. ------ Nomination #23 Composer: Spiralmouth Game: Crash Bandicoot 5: Crash Twinsanity Track Title: Totem Hokum, Pt II (River Rollerbrawl Area) Track Number: 1-18 Year: 2004 Additional Information: ![]() FTP-CAPELLA FELIPE NO |

Hi Liemtenshi,
Glad to see you participate, but you can only give a song a maximum of 3 points, as per the rules. Most amazing jew boots |

AirForce Delta (GBC Game Rip) - Track 8 A little bleepy in places, but overall very good for a GB tune considering the limitations of the system.
de Blob Original Soundtrack - Splashback (Defiant) Pretty good lounge/groove music; unfortunately I don't really care for those genres. Microcosm (Sega CD Red Book Audio) - Egoniaga A little cheesy, but it has a nice melody and a refreshingly original sound. Riviera ~The Promised Land~ Full Arrange Soundtrack - Mireno, The Underground Cemetery Has a nice sound, but is missing that extra oomph to turn it into something special. Sense Off ~A Sacred Story in the Wind~ Original Soundtrack & Perfect Drama - Cosmic Run The synth lead is really neat, and the backing is pure cheddar; the two cancel each other out neatly. The Prodigy (C64 Game Rip) - Title I don't usually like C64 stuff that much, but this goes a level further into hallowed realms of aural pain. Not so much a song as a collection of piercing sine wave SFX. Total Distortion (Game Rip) - You Are Dead It's silly and fun in a dumb sort of way, kind of like the game itself (which I recommend to anyone looking for a cheap acid trip). XEXEX - Happy Daymare (6 Stage BGM1 <Before Warp>) Easygoing easy listening. Pleasant but not too memorable. The Point Spread You Are Dead - 3 pts. Egoniaga - 2 pts. Track 8 - 1 pt. FELIPE NO ![]() |
3 points: AirForce Delta (GBC Game Rip) - Track 8
1 point: de Blob Original Soundtrack - Splashback (Defiant) 1 point: Microcosm (Sega CD Red Book Audio) - Egoniaga 1 point: XEXEX - Happy Daymare (6 Stage BGM1 <Before Warp>) Splashback is one of my less liked tracks from de Blob, but man the music and sound design in that game are so good. My favorite track is DB 606, but that's due more to how it develops in the game than anything else. What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
1 point for each:
AirForce Delta (GBC Game Rip) - Track 8 de Blob Original Soundtrack - Splashback (Defiant) Microcosm (Sega CD Red Book Audio) - Egoniaga The Prodigy (C64 Game Rip) - Title Total Distortion (Game Rip) - You Are Dead XEXEX - Happy Daymare (6 Stage BGM1 <Before Warp>) Most amazing jew boots ![]() |
My new nomination:
* Album Title: Clive Barker's Undying (PC Game Rip) * Artist: Bill Brown * Track Title: Immortal Soul * Source: Game Credits for Clive Barker's Undying ; Bill Brown * Music by Style * Film Score and New Media Composer. * File Location: http://www.billbrownmusic.com/BBmusi...mortalSoul.mp3 * Disc Number: NA * Track Number: NA * Catalogue Number: NA * Year: 2001 Quick votes for the week: (3 points) Sense Off ~A Sacred Story in the Wind~ Original Soundtrack and Perfect Drama - Cosmic Run (2 points) XEXEX - Happy Daymare (6 Stage BGM1 (Before Warp)) (1 point) Total Distortion (Game Rip) - You Are Dead I can't believe I'm giving "You are dead. Dead. DEAD~~~!" points. But like what some have said, it's actually quite catchy, especially towards the end. Plus the lyrics are priceless. Riviera and AirForce almost got a point. There's nowhere I can't reach.
I think therefore I am... I think.

2 points: The Prodigy (C64 Game Rip) - Title
1 point: AirForce Delta (GBC Game Rip) - Track 8 1 point: de Blob Original Soundtrack - Splashback (Defiant) 1 point: Microcosm (Sega CD Red Book Audio) - Egoniaga 1 point: Total Distortion (Game Rip) - You Are Dead ![]() |
Cutting it close this time. >_>
Average week. =0 (2 points) Microcosm (Sega CD Red Book Audio) - Egoniaga (2 points) Sense Off ~A Sacred Story in the Wind~ Original Soundtrack & Perfect Drama - Cosmic Run (1 point) Riviera ~The Promised Land~ Full Arrange Soundtrack - Mireno, The Underground Cemetery (1 point) AirForce Delta (GBC Game Rip) - Track 8 I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
2 points: Track 8
2 points: Title 1 point: Splashback (Defiant) 1 point: Cosmic Run Just missed: Happy Daymare (I guess), You Are Dead There's a brief stint near the end of You Are Dead where the "YOU ARE DEAD - DEAD - DEAAAAD" is subdued enough that you can hear the instrumental in all it's glory. It's the worst thing I've ever heard. I did laugh pretty hard at "How does it feel to be dead", though. Fantastic chiptunes, by the way. Aside from that, nothing too enthralling, though not a terrible week. Additional Spam: Next nom: Album: Viewpoint Composers: Sizilla Gainsborough, Megumi Matsuura, Masaki Kaze Track: Be Your Age! (Area 3) (arghhh this soundtrack is too cool for track names) Track #: 08 Catalog #: PCCB-00112 Year: 1993 Source: This NFO file I have, viewpoint video game, sammy (1992), PCCB-00112: Viewpoint - VGMdb Additional Info: VGMdb lists Sizilla as the sole composer, Arcade History shows all three. I cannot confirm this via in game credits because THE GAME IS IMPOSSIBLE TO BEAT WHAT THE HELL STAGE 3 BOSS Also holy crap, Sizilla is the dude that did that one arrangement on the DDP-Ketsui OST before promptly dropping off the face of the earth. That explains a lot! Also holy crap, Masaki Kaze is the dude that worked on the Shock Troopers series! Crazy. I seriously just noticed all this while gathering info. I was speaking idiomatically.

I haven't nominated anything in awhile because I haven't been listening to vgm and everything on my queue is from games I've already nominated songs from. But here's one anyway:
Album: Chaos Legion Original Soundtrack Artist: Hideyuki Fukasawa Track Title: choir of curse (Boss BGM -type1-) Track #: 07 Catalog #: CPCA-1072 Year: 2003 Info: VGMDB My favorite Chaos Legion song. What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?
Check out my original music at my Soundcloud page!
Latest music rips (updated January 10, 2012): SimCity DS - Jazz/ambient/electronic music including interesting reworkings of songs from the fantastic SimCity 3000 soundtrack Cold Winter Original Game Music Score - Really cool; dark, full, emotional strings mixed with drums, piano, choir. Kind of like Furious Angels? Play-Asia - Japanese CDs, game soundtracks, game imports, & more ![]() |

[5/3] The Prodigy (C64 Game Rip) - Title FELIPE NO |
So wait, if that dude who distributed his points incorrectly had his points counted, in a 3-2-1 way, "Cosmic Run" would have won, right?

The results are really close; most tracks can actually be seen as unofficial winners. I don't feel like I'm dominating SotW, but I'm always glad when I can propose a piece that gets enjoyed by the majority, and likewise with others' nominations. Let's keep the good tunes coming!
