Noein - Mou Hitori no Kimi e

ANN Plot summary

Quote:
Fifteen years in the future, by high-level scientific power, a violent battle takes place between La’cryma, that protects humanity, and Shangri-La, that plans the annihilation of all space-time. The key to stopping Shangri-La’s invasion is a mysterious object known as “the Dragon’s Torque.” A group known as the Dragon Calvary is being sent through space and time to find it. In the present, twelve-year old Haruka and her friend Yuu are contemplating running away from home when they meet a member of the Dragon Calvary named Karasu (Crow). He believes that Haruka has the Dragon's Torque and claims to be Yuu from fifteen years in the future.
I started watching this show a while ago just because the OST's were so great (a good reason, eh?), and I'm glad I did. I had no idea what to expect, but after watching a few episodes, I knew this was going to be great.

The first thing I noticed was the unusual art style, which may not appeal to everyone. I don't think it's bad, just different. The animation itself is very good, especially on the fight scenes, which are simply stunning.

Noien's plot isn't necessarily the most original one out there, but it's certainly good. It's basically about quantum physics. Don't let this scare you though, you don't need to be interested in / know anything about quantum physics in order to enjoy it.

And last but not least, the music composed by Hikaru Nanase is one of the best I've heard in a while and the main reason I started watching this show in the first place.

Noein is being fansubbed by Shinsen Subs. They have subbed 19 episodes so far. Noein is 24 episodes long.

So, has anyone else been following this great series?

Jam it back in, in the dark.

I can't beleive only one reply was done for this anime.

Noein is :

- AWESOME fights, the animation is just stunning. People get all excited about the worthless Naruto anime while this series got some outstanding action scenes.
- Lovable characters, who thinks like true human beings (for once).
- A unique overall design (maybe this is what makes people avoid this anime).
- A coherent story, with a great ending who makes you want to watch this series again many times.

An anime with that quality can't be missed.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Seriously, where is the Noein love. Easily an A grade anime series. I'm only on episode 8 but I have been mightly impressed. I love the weird anime style and the story/characters are great.

I think people just have to watch the introduction scene from the first episode to get 0_0. Fortunately, this scene isn't just show off, the quality of the animation for all the following episodes is just like that :

Ooh! There's actually people who like Noein.

I think it's way too underrated, and I don't quite get people who say the animation sucks. I admit the character designs aren't the best, but Noein wouldn't be Noein if they didn't look like that. ^^ I don't know about other people, but I don't mind seeing something different once in a while.

On the other hand, they could remake Noein! Haruka would be 5 years older and have a lot bigger breasts and a short skirt so we could see her pants every 30 seconds. Karasu should be turned into a ninjawizard. He also needs to name his every single attack and shout them out loud everytime they're executed. Karasu would also stumble, fall on Haruka and accidently grab her breasts at least once in every episode.

It'd be awesome!

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

For this remake, you forgot to add the pervert sensei, the ramen love and the love triangle between Karas, Haruka and Yuu. 0_o

ROFLOL; yeah then maybe it would get some more fans. But then it would suck serious ass as well. It seems the serious anime nowadays don't get the respect and admiration they deserve.

BTW, I love that Witchblade avatar of yours. Sweet.

Yea, this is a pretty good series I've seen up to about episode 18-20. I agree that most the serious anime and the ones with great story, action, etc don't get the credit they derserve. It seems all the popular anime thesedays are like you have been descrbing for the noein remake lmao...

Well I just downloaded and watched all the episodes and DAMN this anime was great. Something just told me to try it and I'm glad I did, the animation, music, story, and characters were all great. I suggest everyone give this a try.

I was also very satisfied with Noein. Its a shame they didn't make a manga for it. Its on my to-buy R1 DVD list.

I finished watching Noein a while ago and thoroughly enjoyed it.
Spoiler:
The concept was unique with all the parallel universes happening at the same time and Haruka effecting them all.

It was also pretty sad at times too. Good series. The interesting art did make me laugh a couple of times. It looked like sketches coming to life.

Yeah, I don't but the American DVDs of shows though, except for Cowboy Bebop Remix. The R1 DVDs are much more rewarding with extras most of the time !

Yeah, the whole series was pretty innovative. I almost didn't watch it. Now I have to decide whether Haruhi is worth it.

Yeah but the japanese dvds don't come with subtitles unless it's a fan release and not official which I don't like hehe.

Sorry for beating a death horse, but i have to here.
WOW! i have to say, i took interest in this show, way after it aired.
THERE is SO much to say about it. The eyes bug me a bit, but there than that, is AMAZING!!!
The animation is FLUID! the fight scene in this are some of the BEST fights i have ever seen! They took some of the coolest theories in modern science and use them to make a rather realistic fantasy and make everything very bielivable.
ITs in incredible, i would recommend this to ANYBODY...I cant believe this wasnt one of these BIG hits of teh season. because it was just amazing!

Noein shot up on my list of favorite anime. Every episode is meaningful and the entire series is well paced. I love the animation style, it's so fluid and cohesive. Easily, some of the best action scenes in any anime ever.

I guess some people just can't handle so much sci fi talk or they were turned off by the character designs.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

That would be my only guess, I didn't love Haruka's eyes, looked too much like a cat for me, but everybody elses where fine. The character design past that was part of what made me love the series. I like the rough sketchy look to art, the action scenes where smooth, yet uncleaned up at the same time, where the animation was superb. Even though it had an unfinished touch, unlike how in a lot of other animes (Ex: Naruto) when the action picks up 1/2 the time, the animation quality goes in the crapper. Here, the animation seems to get better in high action scenes. The opening scene for the first episode i almost started drooling over once i saw it i thought it was just AMAZING, and yeah, i sat down and watched all of it in 2 days while going to school, thats how much i liked it.
