Recently (from July - October) I wrote a story that was told in my ChocoJournal. The first entry is
here, with the subsequent response entries comprising the rest of the story.
When I started, I simply made messages using the urls that I placed within the entry text to alert anyone who was paying attention that something was going on. It wasn't until the third entry (the one with the Pink Floyd lyrics) that I made the link from the entry go to a post of mine that I had edited in a link to my webspace, where I was hosting a text file that was the actual beginning of the story. It was told as a series of journal entries (four in this "hidden" method, five actual story portions in my Journal); the entries that I hid links in also had a few false leads (to unpleasant images). From the afternoon of October 10 to early October 11, the dates of the last entries, I had CHz implement a word filter for all of my posts on the forums. I had originally intended to ask for permission to do some limited spamming that could be deleted within a few hours, but felt that, after some problems that I have had in that regard, this wordfilter would be both more appropriate AND spectacular. People noticed, I will say that.
If you wish to read it, I suggest using the .txt attachment for the early story bits; if you want to go through the entry trail, be advised that some of the earlier links no longer work correctly, due to my deletion of earlier versions of the file. The on-forum story portion begins in
this entry; I felt these lyrics were highly appropriate, considering the semi-dreamlike nature of some of the story elements, with the next entry in the chain going back to my writing.
Enjoy.
Jam it back in, in the dark.
