The last time I updated my FireFox all my bookmarks disappeared. If I were to install FireFox 3 will my bookmarks disappear too? Is there a way to save my bookmarks?

Jam it back in, in the dark.

I was worried about this too (the initial install of Firefox 2 ate my bookmarks as well), but Firefox 3 installed without a hitch and my bookmarks are intact. Firefox does allow you to export your bookmarks as a html file (and reimport that same file later) if you're very paranoid about it.

Your bookmarks and history etc. transfer over automatically. The only thing you need to worry about is plugins that you may have that weren't updated for FF3 yet (for me, this was a dealbreaker since I need some of those plugins).

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Yep, should be automatic. In case something goes amiss, however, you can backup the contents of

Code:

C:\Documents and Settings\*username*\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\*random text*.default\

before installing the new version.
