Anyone see the movie "An American Crime"?
I did. It was pretty fucked up, though more restrained than "The Girl Next Door". Yet, ironically, it was more disturbing because it humanized the characters more. At least I think so. "The Girl Next Door" just felt like, well, porn. It didn't really feel like a movie with a story that much.
"An American Crime", though, made the victim feel very human, detailing her life before it turns to hell, and even the gradual rise. Every time Gertrude blamed her for something, or sounded the slightest bit annoyed, I cringed, because I knew something just plain wrong was going to happen.
I showed the movie to my younger brother, and he said it was well done and he liked it, but it was depressing in the last 30 minutes, and messed up.
Jam it back in, in the dark.
