I got my game 120 miles away from me, just sitting there
Hoping to either get home a bit sooner than planned or else I'll have friend send it by mail, I WANT MY GAME!
Anyways, I'll probably be up for some Multiplayer action after at least a few hours of single playing,

PSN: Greeder

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

I just got my copy about an hour or so ago, but I've yet to play it. I definitely want to get some single player done first before I jump into the multiplayer, so I probably won't be able to do so until this weekend.

Is anybody up for organizing a time for us to get together? It'd be great to get as many people as we can from here playing at once, so maybe everyone can post what day and time is best for them. As of now I'd be up for Saturday at 9PM Eastern, as it gives me some time to play the game during the day Saturday, and still get in early enough so that we can get a good amount of time in. I'm definitely up for whatever is best for everyone else, though, that's just my suggestion.

Sorry if I seem overly excited about all this, I just can't wait to play this game, both single and multiplayer. Oh, and my PSN name is RockgamerXIII by the way. I'll make sure to add everyone else who posted in here.

I also want some time with single player since all I did today was beat the first two missions.
I tried to get into multiplayer within the phone but it said there was some connection failure with the server or something so I haven't even tried it yet.
But yeah, I might be free this saturday around the same time for some online action, that is of course if I can get online.
Game is awesome btw, six axis isn't perfect but it was fun just trying to fly the helicopter with it, altho i won't be trying again soon ^^;

I was speaking idiomatically.

Played for about half hour. Pretty enjoyable so far, but didn't do much worthy of mentioning yet. I'm available to game online any day. It's gotta be before 10 PM EST though.

I dont get this whole free mode thing. How are you supposed to find the other players? I musta drove around in a game with 6 others and saw nobody.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

I know what you mean, I saw two other people but I killed one then after that I took a motorcycle to find more and I ended up lost in the beach. I guess free mode is exactly how it sounds like. Although since freemode has no mark for the players and you can travel around a whole city it would be a lot more fun if it were at least 30 players around the city.
I didn't even get up to the missions that let me use a gun so once I jumped into online was the first time I shot something ~_~

haha yeah it was, I was figuring out most of the controls and map icons during the game and I was surprised how much a car can be effected by damage. I just tried out gta race and that was a lot of fun we should try it next time

I'm up for some Multiplayer action. It might be a few days since I'm trying to get a feel for single player (I love doing missions), but soon I'll be up for some multiplayer goodness.

PSN: herrkotowski

Feel free to add me if I don't request it first.

IS there a way for in-game communication?
For Xbox users, The Microphone headset that is bundled with the 360 provides voice communication, and is largely lag-free. This is both in the 'lobby' of choosing multiplayer game modes, and in-game, possibly depending on what game-type is chosen. (I say this because during Cops and Robbers there was no seemingly no-one talking, so I don't know if everyone was just being quiet or what)

--edit--
Okay, totally did not see that this thread was PS3 only. Whoops! Thought it was MULTI like the regular discussion thread.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

it's the same for ps3. people with mics can chat in the lobby and in the multiplayer modes. I plugged in my old logitech ps2 headset but I don't know if it works for gta4 but I did have the mic icon next to my name.
I don't think keyboards are supported either.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

hmm well we didn't get to see it since it was free play but when your choosing a game mode (such as race, deathmatch etc.) and all the other players are waiting theres a black screen with the players names and a list of the rules and mode and cars and such.

I was actually just going to try out single player to record some gamplay but then Turbo accepted my friend request sooner than expected and he invited me to a game which I decided to record. And since both of us were just messing and it was my first time online and actually shooting a gun, it was very fun.
Especially since there were so many little details about the game to enjoy and it's so funny when hitting or getting hit by a car.

well I my pc broke down a while ago but luckily my tv tuner card still worked and since it had a video out plug I used it to plug in the ps3.
I used virtual dub so record it but youtube made it lose it's quality but ah well still it was funny to see myself get run over by that motorcycle.....and then by that yellow car....hell I just love the physics.
I tried bowling in single play and I was wondering, in freeplay can we set up bowling or pool matches? that would be interesting/awesome. Plus I found bowling to be a lot more fun with the sixaxis
