I'm using Vista and when AVG first starts up i get an error that says the resident shield isn't loaded. i can manually start it, but it won't auto start when avg does. i've checkin in windows services and the resident shield is set to auto. anything else i can try? thanks in advanced.

I had a similar problem the other day. I just reinstalled the program (free version, mind you) and that fixed up all of the programs. My Resident Shield and updater were acting a bit funky.

yeah, i've tried reinstalling but it's still doing the same thing...i don't know what else to try. could there be some other service i need to enable for resident shield to auto-start?
This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

1) Click start.
2) Click Run and type in services.msc. 3) Scroll down to the relevant service, right click and select properties. 4) Check for any DEPENDENCY SERVICES and see if they have been started. I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
i think that did it. thank you fernando!
I was speaking idiomatically.
