Arrow Windows Media Center Edition + video error

I'm having some difficulty with my copy of MCE 2002 (if anyone can hook me up with 2005, it'd be great) and playing videos through the built in player. After setting up MCE and adding pictures and videos, I get the following error when I try to play a video:
" VIDEO ERROR
Files needed to display video are missing or corupt.
Please restart Media Center and/or restart the computer.
If the problem persists, go to Help for additional
information."

I'm pretty sure it's not a codec problem because I'm able to play my videos just fine with WMP. I can even get a thumbnail picture of my video within MCE, but I get that error when I tried to play. Anyone know what can be causing this?

I don't have any experience with MCE, but if you're looking for MCE 2005, there are several well-seeded torrents on The Pirate Bay. (Also, that being in the event that you don't mind torrents.)

There's nowhere I can't reach.

Well, that's just it Snowknight; all the torrents I've gotten from piratebay and torrentspy (the well-seeded ones) all turned out to be 2002, and not 2005. I was hoping someone would know something about this error or had an actual MCE 2005 iso(s) or torrent.

Thanks though!

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

There are two things you need. You need an MCE compatible MPEG-2 codec (Any of the major DVD decoder programs will do, I reccomend WinDVD for it's ease of finding a copy of it) and you need an MCE compatible tv tuner driver for your card. (Most are) Once you have these two things, it should work. Then it should work (hopefully, this was how I fixed this issue when I got this error)

And the 2005 torrents are 2005, Microsoft screwed up and while it says 2002 in the System properties, it actually is 2005. I have a copy of 2004. and it still says version 2002.

My computer uses onboard video (ASUS), and has an RCA TV-Out, but not TV tuner; does that mean I won't be able to install a tv tuner driver? Or do you not actually need a tv tuner card for it to work?

And thanks for clearing up the year issue.

I was speaking idiomatically.
