My Vista-running laptop has just had wireless disappear off the face of the Earth!?
I have a laptop running Vista - no major problems thus far, until now. Just a few days ago, the wireless connection wasn't working. Bluetooth is still there, but the icon remains inactive and going into it, there are absolutely NO wireless networks to be detected. It's no router's problem either since 1. flatmates can use it; 2. NO wireless networks . . . heck, it even says I don't have wireless AT ALL wtf?!?!
Someone help please. I can't live without easily accessible internet (can't direct plug in cos another flatmate is already doing so and router is too far from my room). Well I can live without it (proven already) but it sucks. HELP! Vista - WLAN(AMD Turion 64?) driver no work! MS you suck! Most amazing jew boots |
Well, the obvious first thing would be to make sure you didn't turn off the wireless card. If you don't know what button/switch on your laptop toggles Wi-Fi on and off, you should be able to turn it back on by going to Network and Sharing Center -> Manage Network Connections, then right-clicking on Wireless Network Connection and clicking Enable.
How ya doing, buddy? |
The switch is on. Like I said, bluetooth works, but wireless is not even on the menu. How do I turn it back on when it's not even there to turn on in the first place! Damn it. It's weekend now too so I won't be getting it fixed for a while, and we all know how inadequate tech-support is anyway.
Gah, at least my exams are over ![]() This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
