Tagging .ogg files fails

This just came out of the blue, I really have no idea what I might've done wrong. I know I haven't changed any settings.

I usually use Mp3tag to mass-tag .ogg files, and I've never had any problems with it. Yesterday though, things got bad, I tried mass-tagging some songs and I ended up having several songs completely wiped clean of tags. Upon inspection, the files couldn't be removed, because they were "in use", which is impossible, because I closed the application and I didn't have them playing in Winamp, you know the drill.

So, I tried creating a fresh copy of the .ogg file and tagging it manually using Winamp. This method also worked without any problems prior to this. I edit the tag and hit update, and get a "write error" message.

Rebooting the computer doesn't work at all, it does however enable me to remove the files, but tagging still fails as does the manual approach using Winamp.

Mp3tag has also been updated to the latest version, so I'm really clueless as to what I should do now. Does anyone know what's wrong? The .ogg plugin seem to be working just fine, but this is getting really annoying. Any suggestions or help is appreciated, thanks.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Check msconfig for suspicious crap.

There's nowhere I can't reach.
