Great season, or GREATEST SEASON?
This fall/winter seasons is pretty fucking awesome, you guys have to admit. Even among legendary winters like 2004, this one is shaping up pretty to be pretty great. Every single console and handheld has some awesome titles coming out for it. There's literally no way in hell most people could play everything that looks interesting before the end of the year. And there's no stop to it from this week on.
I know, I personally, have at least one game a week coming out until the middle of November that I absolutely must purchase (with one exception). What are you guys planning on buying this season? What are you looking the most forward to? Do you think you'll have time to play it all? Do you think or hope for a different sort of schedule in the following year to catch up? Is there anything major you're planning on skipping for whatever reason? I have Persona 3, Bioshock, Prime 3, (Here's my skip week), Growlanser, Eternal Sonata, Halo 3, Phantom Hourglass, The Orange Box/War of the Lions, Katamari, Front Mission DS/Ace Combat/Phoenix Wright, Disgaea PSP, Fire Emblem/Mass Effect, and Mario Galaxy. Try to keep the retarded out of here, if at all possible guys, thanks. Jam it back in, in the dark. |
I'll possibly be getting Bioshock, but I may wait a bit on it. I'll be getting Heavenly Sword in September {this will be my first ps3 game finally}. I'll be getting Ace Combat plus flight stick. I've never heard of this "Halo 3" game that you mentioned; it must be one of those low profile jap games or something so?
Of course the game that I am looking forward to the most is Mass Effect, since it going to be the game of the year, whichever year it actually is released in. So from where I am sitting, this fall/winter isn't exactly legendary. I mean, if Mass Effect turns out to be as great as I hope it will be, then that alone will be enough to make it legendary, but otherwise, it is pretty average. There's nowhere I can't reach. I didn't say I wouldn't go fishin' with the man.
All I'm sayin' is, if he comes near me, I'll put him in the wall. |
I can't wait for the Nintendo stuff.
Also, Final Fantasy games like these: FF4 - DS (RPG) FF:CC Crystal Bearers - Wii (Multi-RPG) FF:CC Ring of Fates - DS (Multi-RPG) FFXII Revenant Wings - DS (Action RPG) FF:Tactics War of the Lions - PSP (Strategy RPG) FF:T Advance Part 2 - DS (Strategy RPG) This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. ![]() |
Great variety you got there, chief.
I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
I'm looking forward to alot of stuff. This may be mind-numbin for some, but it is the only way i can collect my thoughts on what i'm gettin.
Must haves Bioshock (360) - this game has been my most wanted for months and it possibly will be my GOTY for 2007. It is also the best lookin game i've seen to date; beautiful water. Metroid Prime 3 (Wii) It is metroid prime! Do i need to say more? Persona 3 (PS2) already own the game and have beaten it. But the incentives with the U.S version plus the chance to check out the supposedly awesome translation makes it a buy. Halo 3 (360) The Beta impressed me alot and i despised Halo 2. Currently playing hrough Halo 1 as of now and the H3 beta plays just like it. So this game is poised to be awesome and deserving of the hype. Plus, MP is gonna be awesome. Ratchet & clank: ToD ( PS3 ) Only PS3 game i'm interested this fall; but goddamn does this game look amazing. Mass Effect ( 360 ) Bioware has never failed me and i doubt they will with this game. It already looks to be GOTY material. Lost Odysssey (360 ) If the worldwide release date is recognized this november, this game looks to be the RPG of the year and a must get. Ace Combat VI w FS (360) Getting this soley so i can see the modern day Tuskegee Airman Tails talk shit and get blown the fuck up. Beautiful Katamari (360) Katamari's drug-like gameplay and the possibilitys of awesome achievement point quests = must buy [/b] Eternal Sonata (360 Finally got around to playing the demo last night and this game looks and plays great. I'm sure their is more i want, but my mind is pretty much in dead-mode right now and i can't think. Will update when i can think of more crap to bore you all with. I was speaking idiomatically. |
I'm sure there's plenty more but that's what I can remember now
![]() How ya doing, buddy? ![]() |
Here in Australia, I'm eagerly awaiting the local release of 'Space Invaders', I hear it's a very good game. I can't wait! Seriously though, even here in horse shit delay land there's plenty to be a consumer whore about. It's horrible.
![]() 360 (I NEED THE ACTUAL SYSTEM FIRST BUT SSSHH MAYBE WE'LL GET THE EIGHTY CENT PRICE DROP TOO) - Eternal Sonata. This is pretty much the first console RPG I've been excited about in sixty eight million years. It seems to have lots of green in it. Green's good. Nice music too. And things. - Ace Combat 6. You goons got me into this series with your fancy pants fancy.. pants. I don't know. Fuck you. ![]() - Half Life 2 The Orange Box. OH GOD PORTAL LET ME TOUCH YOU SO MY HAND WILL GO ALL WICKY WACKY. - Brothers in Ar-wait is this even still in development? - Beautiful Katamari (this isn't even on our local release list but it still might magically make it this year). I heard a rumour that I loved Katamari, but if it's now beautiful, then well, I guess we can have sex without the paper bag. DS - Nervous Brickdown. I think this comes out on Friday or something. Block breaking with music that gets stuck in your brain and neon people running around, that's what video games are all about. Wait what. - Phoenix Wright 3: Revenge of Phoenix Wright. IMPORTIN'. Fun fact, Australia gets Phoenix Wright 2 the same day America gets Phoenix Wright 3. - Zelda: Phantom Hourglass. I had a crack of this on my mates DS.. rom... contraption.. thinga-ma-jig, and even though I had no idea what the hell was going on, it was pretty wonderful. ![]() EROTIC CAKE SHOP. EROTIC CAKE SHOP. EROTIC CAKE SHOP. I'll import this from the UK if I have to. - Drawn to Life. Because it's a 2D platformer. - The Simpsons. Because it's a 2D platformer (I didn't expect that from EA, I thought they'd cram in some horrid 3D bullshit) - Powershot Pinball Constructor. Why has it taken SO LONG for another pinball game to come out on DS JESUS CHRIST I'M GOING TO GET ANGRY ON THE INTERNET ABOUT THIS. - Sonic Rush Adventure. This will probably be bullshit because Sega has reached the low levels of like, early-90's THQ, but oh well. PSP - The new, slim PSP. I never owned the original. I should probably get one to play the Taito games I have for it. Oh but I also have a non-Taito game. ![]() Wow what a scary guy. He will be on Fox news for sure. - California Games. It's A REMAKE OF CALIFORNIA GAMES guys. Wii (This is such a joke system here this year. No Mario Galaxy, no Smash Bros. Super Paper Mario comes out next month, but the delay has killed any interest I had in it. But!) - Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games. I'm like one of ten people that care about Olympic games (they're awesome when everyone's pissed), and this one will let me beat Sonic in a foot race as Bowser. NiGHTS 2. Please be good. Oh wait Sega. PS2 Whoops I almost forgot this trooper. - Global Delay Force. NOVEMBER. But it will be so good. - Raw Danger. Next week it seems. I really hope I can find this game, it's getting harder and harder to find places that stock budget PS2 stuff. Sequel to my favorite PS2 game ever! FELIPE NO

Let's throw some stuff out there.
PS3 Heavenly Sword - Fuck yes. I loved the demo, even if it was an early build of the game and not an accurate representation of the final build. This game is gonna kick ass on so many levels. Must-buy indeed. Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction - I've owned every Ratchet game available, and I've no doubt this is gonna be triple-A stuff. Next-gen Lombax = complete win. Uncharted: Drake's Fortune - A nice adventure title to get away from the hacking and the platforming. Naughty Dog's always produced quality material and Uncharted looks fantastic. Unreal Tournament III - Fuck, it's UT. With added wireless keyboard and mouse support and the ability to play PC gamers online as well as download all the mods for it, this game is definitely getting purchased. White Knight Story (?) - I only hope this game makes it by year's end. It's looking doubtful, but I haven't heard anything about a release date, so here's hoping. Warhawk - Ultimately, I'd like to play this game. It reminds of how good Star Fox used to be -- playing as either infantry, in a tank, or in the sky was crazy fun, and Warhawk is taking that experience and putting it online with no cost to play. Sweet. PS Home - Not a game, but I'm stoked nonetheless. I'm really excited to see what Home is gonna do to change the way online console communities gather. My own virtual apartment? Sweet. An online community arcade room? Double sweet. PSP Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions - I never really played the original FFT back on the PSone, so I'm excited to try it again. Back then, I wasn't big into strategy games and I'm still not all that amped about them, but this is the granddaddy of turn-based tactical RPGs, so it at least deserves a shot. Jeanne d' Arc - After playing the demo, I'm dead-set on getting my hands on Jeanne d' Arc. Level-5 delivers once again, and I've no problem putting my money behind their work. Disgaea: Afternoon of Darkness - It's Disgaea. It took me awhile, but I eventually grew to enjoy the first one. Trying to track down a copy of the sequel has been difficult, so until I find one, the PSP game will more than suffice. Dragoneer's Aria - I know so little about the game, but there's so much stuff and hype about it that I'm bound to check it out just to see how awesome it is. Infernal's post reminded me -- Redesigned PSP - Yeah I'm gonna buy one. I've got an original 1.50 firmware, so I'll probably flash it and get some of the more stable custom firmware for emulation, and use my shiny silver one to play Daxter, watch the Family Guy collection, and play my PSP games on. Two PSPs = tremendous win. PS2 Wild Arms 5- I've purchased every Wild Arms game to come out so far, for better or worse. So, here's another one for the collection. Growlanser: Heritage of War - I really liked the Growlanser Generations collection on the PS2 and I wanna play/own this one. Wii NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams - I've been waiting what, 11, 12 years for this game? Fuck if I'm not gonna buy it, that'd be stupid. People should buy this just to get a series rolling on it. Fat chance ever seeing it on the PS3, but it's the only reason I bought a Wii, so it's a must-have. Soul Calibur Legends - I'm a Soul Calibur whore, and hopefully this one turns out to be a good deviant for the series. If it gets bad reviews for shitty conversion from fighting to action/adventure, I won't pick it up. Most amazing jew boots Reading -- Bleach, Claymore, Chun Rhang Yhur Jhun, NOW, Zero: Beginning of the Coffin, Black God, Twelve Kingdoms (novels), History's Strongest Disciple Kenichi Watching -- Bleach Playing -- Fable II, Valkyria Chronicles, Guitar Hero: World Tour, Star Ocean: First Departure, LittleBigPlanet, MegaMan 9, Mirror's Edge

Crazy hectic season for me as well. I still don't know how the fuck I'm gonna afford AC6 + Flight Stick but I'll whore myself If it comes to it. So far it's looking like Persona 3 next week, BioShock the week after, nothing until Sept. 25th with Halo 3 (Probably regular version..I want Legendary bad but I don't see how I'm gonna swing it) and then AC6 followed by Mass Effect. I'll be trying my hardest to hold off on Assasin's Creed for awhile.
Jam it back in, in the dark. |
Nice year. I will be importing these titles, in order of release:
PS2: - Persona 3 LE. - Growlanser V - Wild Arms 5 (Friend tells me the series is good) - Soul Nomad & The World Eaters - Arcana Heart DS: - Gyakuten Saiban 3 / Phoenix Wright: Trials and whatever - Luminous Arc (?) - Sonic Rush Adventure - Front Mission First (?) I'll probably wind up downloading them and seeing if they're any good, first. 360: - Culdcept Saga (?) - Eternal Sonata - Beautiful Katamari - Anything on Arcade which might be worthwhile. Wii: - Metroid Prime 3 - Super Paper Mario ... ... Uh.. skip to October.. - Fire Emblem - NiGHTS - Gaikuru Domino - Any worthwhile VC games (Landstalker and Sonic 3 are confirmed). Um.. as for PS3, I will probably purchase one when the price is justified by available games like Gradius VI. Most amazing jew boots |
I don't have as much money to throw at gaming now as I used to, nor do I have as much time. So only about one game a month is enough to really keep me satiated. Wii is my only next-gen system, and I don't game seriously on my DS (i know, blasphemous right?)
So, I'll probably be playing through Metroid Prime 3, then Super Mario Galaxy and finally Super Smash Bros Brawl. I know that's kind of meager in terms of numbers, but it's basically the Nintendo Trifecta of Awesomeness. The only thing that would be better is, like, a new EarthBound game. I also think I might pick up Hellgate: London at some point depending on whether or not I think my rig is capable of handling it (and perhaps pending reviews). This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.
<@a_lurker> I like zeal better than guru.
<@a_lurker> There, I said it, I'm not taking it back. |
PS2
Persona 3 - I'm seriously interested in this game... I can't wait until next week. DS Phantom Hourglass - This one is a maybe, I still haven't beaten Windwaker... T_T Phoenix Wright: Trials and Tribulations - Best in the series? I MUST! Wii Super Smash Bros. Brawl - I MUST get this game. My list isn't long. Leave me alone. I'm broke. T_T I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
Growlanser V is long awaited (I thought this series was DOA in America) and Guitar Hero 3 is going to rock, period. Those are the two major ones for me right now.
I'll have to stay on top of the Wii...Smash Brothers Brawl is my killer app, but I'll pick my spots (read: not going to fight the Christmas crowd if there's still a shortage). Also, I have to see how Rock Band shapes up...If they get downloadable content I want and it isn't on Wii...Well, that could lead to a quick and dirty 360 sale (I'll get AC6 too if that happens). Oh and reformed PSP...Joy! And more Sonic on DS. Yeah, it'll be crazy, no doubt. I was speaking idiomatically.
I'm taking over this town...
I'm screaming for vengenace... I'm shouting at the devil... I'm not dead and I'm not for sale... Ain't lookin' for nothin' but a good time... |
I'm picking up Bioshock and Smash Bros. for sure. I might get Halo 3 and Guitar Hero 3 if I have the money for them. Games I want, but will probably have to wait for are Mass Effect, Metroid Prime 3, Phoenix Wright 3, Phantom Hourglass, Beautiful Katamari, and Disgaea PSP (Mainly because I don't have a PSP yet.)
Most amazing jew boots ![]() |
Sorry guys. Can't think any further than Bioshock.
![]() But seriously, Metroid Prime 3, Crysis, Heavenly Sword will probably be my titles after that. Yes. Short list. But I'll have to get a PS3 somewhere in between that. And hopefully that'll have Motorstorm and Resistance, plus there are some (few) other, older titles I'm interested in (The Darkness!). FELIPE NO ![]() These are the Books of Harrow They are our doom and our salvation Learn from them, or we will all perish |
Front Mission DS finally has a release date for NA? And it's coming the same week as Ace Combat 6 and Phoenix Wright 3? Awesome++
What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
For me this season was all about Wild Arms 5. I've been looking forward to this game since I heard that they carried over the battle system from WA4.
However, since I've purchased a 360 I now have other titles to look forward to, like Eternal Sonata, Bioshock, Mass Effect, Ace Combat 6, Dynasty Warriors: Gundam, and, of course, Halol 3. As far as the Wii goes, definitely getting Mario Galaxy. I was really excited about Metroid Prime 3, but I've heard there have been significant changes made to the gameplay formula, stepping away from something like Prime 1. I'm skeptical now. I'm also skeptical about NiGHTS because the current Sonic Team has yet to produce a decent game since Sonic Adventure. The first one. Most amazing jew boots ![]() |
I'll have to go with:
PSP Jeanne d'Arc Disgaea: Afternoon of Darkness Castlevania: The Dracula X Chronicles FFT: The War of the Lions Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops Plus (should it get a release date for America) DS Front Mission 1st FFXII: Revenant Wings Contra 4 PC Unreal Tournament III No Xbox 360, PS3 or Wii for me. At least until next year. There's nowhere I can't reach. ![]() The War of the Lions |
I'm getting Bioshock for sure. Perhaps also Two Worlds... Honestly, the X360 has the most interesting games, though I could see myself getting PW3. But I appear to be the only person in the world not entranced by Metroid. I might get it if it's the best thing since... something.
Then there're Halo 3 (I know, should have called it Fako, or Failo, but I got a sense of humor, so I choose not to) and I've also got to buy the latest Pokemon. Oh yeah, and Super Paper Mario, because I'm such a retard I choose to support Nintendo, even if they would rather fuck my arse raw than treat me kindly. God I hate them and the fans who worship the ground they piss on... This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
Ugh, too many games coming out... It's going to be an unhealthy season
![]() - Bioshock - Metroid Prime 3 - Guitar Hero 3 - Rock Band - Smash Bros. Brawl - Super Mario Galaxy - Zelda: Phantom Hourglass - Wii Fit (does that come out this year?) - NiGHTS - HL2: Orange Box - Beautiful Katamari I'll probably hold two of those off for Christmas, but I really want every single one of those immediately, so probably not gonna happen. Between these games and making my new movie, I'm gonna be broke again real soon. I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? ![]() |
I was speaking idiomatically. |
What the fuck.
How did I miss out on hearing that Beautiful Katamari was only gonna be coming out for the 360? What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? It was lunchtime at Wagstaff.
Touching butts had been banned by the evil Headmaster Frond. Suddenly, Tina Belcher appeared in the doorway. She knew what she had to do. She touched Jimmy Jr's butt and changed the world. |
For me, my list is rather limited.
Half Life 2: Episode 2 - I didn't even know this was coming out until I read this thread, but now that I have, it's immediately moved up to number 1 on my list. I fucking <3 Half Life, and Portal sounds like sex in digital form. Without the penetration. Metroid Prime 3: God, yes. This is one of the reasons I bought a Wii. I am seriously psyched for this. Bioshock: I'm unfortunate enough to have missed out on System Shock 2, but from what I've heard, this game is looking DAMN good. Whether I buy it or pirate it, though, depends on my funds. Smash Bros. Brawl: The second reason I bought a Wii. 'Nuff said. Mario Galaxy: This one's less of a "OMG MUST HAEV" and more of a "I'll pick it up if I have the money." I'm just not as excited as I am by the others, especially after the disappointment of Mario Sunshine. FELIPE NO ![]() |
Persona 3...after so many months XD
What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
There was those two name trademarks but that's about the extent of news you'll get about either of those versions. Jam it back in, in the dark. |
