Motherboard Max Supported HDD size

I've searched alot on this and also sat through the motherboard manual, but can't find anywhere stating the max size a drive can be for my motherboard.

I have my eye on a 160Gb HDD, but don't want to buy it not knowing wether it'll work in my PC or not. When I bought the 80Gb drive I'm on now I didn't realise it was too big for my old Intel 82810 or something like that motherboard.

Eitherway, my motherboard is an Asrock K7VM2.

Any help appreciated =D. The Drive of course is IDE.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

It doesn't matter, unless it's gonna be your primary drive. You can always just got an ATA Controller Card and that'll get around the computer's HD barrier. If it is the primary, just use a smaller drive, (if you have one) like a 40GB, for your OS drive and then have the larger drive in the ATA controller as a data drive.

Typically the barrier is at 137GB for anything relatively recent, though some computers can go higher.

The Asrock board supports ATA133, so it should support drives of any size. I think that all ATA133-capable motherboards can work with large drives.

If it doesn't work, you can always buy an ATA133 controller card, though the cheapest ones are pretty crufty. If you have to go this route, you'll want to pay a bit more for a High Point or Promise card.
