Problem sharing files/folders
Well firstly I have two PCs that I want to share files and folders between and I would also like to set-up a printer that I want to share as well, but that is less important.
Both PCs are connected through my Linksys router (WRT54GS). One ethernet lead is connected from my modem to the router, the other two leads are connected from both computers directly to the router. Now the internet works fine for both, but when I want to share files/folders, I run into all sorts of problems. I have used the "Network Setup Wizard" for networking both machines to share files, but after running through the wizard (running the wizard on both machines) nothing will show up under "My Network Places". I also tried to ping both machines, but I received timeouts. I'm wondering, have I set this up wrongly from the start, or is there some option that I would need to edit in my router's settings? Please excuse the kind of n00b questions, I'm still relatively new to networking. Heh. I appreciate any help. Thanks. Most amazing jew boots |
