Any way to remove the "Scanners and Cameras" icon from My Computer?

I'd like to remove this icon, as it is ugly (its max size is 48px and my icons are currently at 64px) and I don't use it. (I do all my scanning through Photoshop and transfer my pictures via a card-reader.)

Is there an easy, painless way to remove this? I've already looked in TweakUI, and didn't see the option in there. Maybe I missed it?

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Well, if you are referring to the Control Panel applet, you can remove it by doing the following (this does work under Windows 2000, and I am fairly certain it is the same in XP/2003): I have tried to separate each action into a separate steps to make this easier to follow.

1. Login using an account with Admin rights
2. From the start menu, select "Run"
3. Type "MMC" and press enter
4. Press Ctrl+M
5. Press the "Add" button at the bottom of the window that pops up.
6. From the list of Snap-in's highlight Group Policy and press "Add"
7. Press Finish on the "Select Group Policy Object" window.
8. Press "Close" on the "Add Standalone Snap-in Window"
9. Press "Close" on the "Add/Remove Snap-in window.
10. Expand the "Local Computer Policy" root on the left side of the console.
11. Expand "User Configuration"
12. Expand "Administrative Templates"
13. Highlight "Control Panel"
14. From the list on the right side of the console, double click on "Hide specified control panel applets".
15. Select the "Enabled" radio button in the upper portion of the windows that pops up.
16. Where it says "List of disallowed control panel applets" press the "Show..." button.
17. Press "Add..." on the window that pops up.
18. Type in the name of the control panel applet you want to disable, in this case: Scanners and Cameras
19. Press Ok, Ok again in the "Show Contents" window, and finally Ok on the last window.
20. Exit out of the console.
21. Since this is part of the User Configuration, the changes to this policy will be applied after you log off/log back into your system.

Edit: Oops, just realized you were reffering to the icon in My Computer, I will have to get back to you about that.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

Yeah I was about to say that it didn't work, probably because I want it removed from My Computer not the control panel.

How ya doing, buddy?
