Recommend some happy songs please

I've been asked to compile a cd with happy songs.

It doesnt have to sound goofy kiddie bombastic, whats important is the content of the lyrics. No heartbroken themes, love songs or goodbye themes, just brand new day happy feeling friendship kind of songs . Anything that can brighten a day or improve someone's mood. The lyrics really matter though so its not just the melody. I hopw you understand what I mean. Do you know of any?

An example on my list already is the song Picture of you by Boyzone

How ya doing, buddy?

Well your words made me think of "Beautiful Day" by U2. So there's my contribution.

Jesus, Roan. Do you have to work at sucking this hard, or does it come naturally?

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

John Mayer just asked me, personally, through an assistant, to sing backup on his new CD.

Are you asking Jesus? Or Roan? I'm confused.

Also, for happy fun timey, try on Freezepop. Oh look, it is electroretro 80's pop, what what what? "I am not your gameboy" she said as she activated the blender. "Good because if you were I would push you in that blender and create a time-space portal to another dimension. Would you like that?" "Oh yes please."

LOL Denicallis, its for a friend of mine whos leaving the country for 6 years. Its not related to my recent thread. :P

Double Post:
Ah, Don't Let It Bring You Down - Neil Young might be good. The meaning/message of the song is what is important. No nonsense lyrics.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Yeah, so maybe I dont know what kind of songs I want.

SO maybe the situation its for would help. Like I said its for a really good friend of mine (girl) who leaving on a jetplane dont know when she'll be back again. So the songs must have meaning but not too sad.
Something thatll cheer her up when she feels alone.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

its not that well-known in states but it a very "brand new day sound" or at least I think it is...
here is part of the lyrics:
Spoiler:
(Your turn has come, the world is waiting
See all your dreams begin unfolding
Break out and break free
Be true to who you are)

Journey to the Past by Aaliyah is not bad

"The Adventure" "Good Day" "A Little's Enough" and especially "The Gift" are a few kinda upbeatish, feel-good songs by Angels and Airwaves. Kinda reminds me of U2 at some points. In fact, most of U2's songs are feel-good songs, somehow. Same with A&A (or AVA as they're more commonly abbreviated)

A lot of stuff by Architecture in Helsinki. Try "It'5!" and "The Cemetery." (Despite the title of that second one, it's very upbeat and energetic.)

Perhaps, try Kate Bush's "Cloudbusting" or the Utah Saints version "Something Good". Both are uplifting in some way. "We all just know something good is going to happennnn."

Maybe try some Brit-invasion stuff too; Some Kinks, the Animals, The Zombies...All generally happy stuff.
