Gothic 3

Is anyone watching this game? I have Gothic 2 but haven't had a chance to play it yet. I was wondering if this game will require a beefier system than Oblivion or if it's on par with those requirements. (My current system plays Oblivion fine for the most part.) I believe this game is already out in Europe...

Jam it back in, in the dark.

It's out, extremely hardware-hungry, bugged to no end and flawed in a LOT of categories. Especially the animations suck, more so than in any other Gothic game before. You can defeat ten orcs without a prob... But no boar, since its attack speed is totally bugged and so fast that it slams you dead.
Actually, it looks a bit worse than Oblivion, but still it needs more hardware power. Oh, and loading times will be approximately 2-3 minutes.
Whenever you save, the save game file grows and grows, as well as when you solve quests or kill enemies, since more and more data is stored into it. That means, late in the game, the performance sucks A LOT due to the size of that file.
Funny enough... There is a bug that deletes your savegame. No joke. Also, it has tons of hangups...

Gothic fans all over Germany are really disappointed by the game, and some magazines handed out rather bad scores (i.e. 69/100)

There's nowhere I can't reach.
I'm a placeholder. I'm there to unnecessarily waste your bandwith and annoy the shit out of you. Too bad that I'm too small to make any difference.

Thanks for the tips. I wonder how many of these problems they'll fix by the U.S. release.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

All that said, it's still a better game than Oblivion.

I've got a pre-order for the stateside release. Thanks for Beta Testing, Europe.

Wellp, pre-order came in yesterday, and it's absolutely unplayable. Just like it was for the Europeans!

Medieval 2 also caused a massive system failure, so I've had to re-format the hard drive and re-install everything. Now I can't play Gothic 3 because of a retarded C++ 2005 error, so when I do eventually get to play it, I'll say something here.

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

Well, now that I've fixed my computer and patched the game, yes, it's already much better than Oblivion. Granted, I've played like, 2 hours, but hunting orc is still a blast, even though I have a sneaking suspicion that I'll just end up helping them anyway.

What, you don't want my bikini-clad body?
