Bartender

This is a new anime I've stumbled upon a while ago, and there doesn't seem to be any thread about it yet. I've just watched the first episode, and I must say it's quite enjoyable, at 3am in the morning anyway. So far, it's hard to describe just what kind of anime it is. It's a sort of feel-good anime, but not the usual happy-fun time innocent feel-good anime.

Obviously, it revolves around a bartender, and there's alcohol involved, so if you're not one to appreciate cocktails, drinking in general and the atmosphere in bars, not one iota, then this might not be for you. Otherwise you should probably give it a try. I really wish I could write a longer post, but I just can't think of anything worth adding.

Do yourself a favor though, don't watch this during the day.

Here's a link to a .torrent for the first episode. I hope more will come:

I'll try it out... I'm always looking for new/good anime... why shouldn't this be watched during the day though?

There's nowhere I can't reach.

It's just that, I dunno, I don't think the atmosphere would go well with that. I mean, you know how watching an horror movie during the day sorta ruins the experience? Well, that's pretty much the same thing here.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

More like GARtender, am I right? The show was actually pretty good, but the only fansubbers already said they are probably only doing the first episode. Oh well. This gif pretty much sums up the show:

I'm sick of this anime and I haven't even seen it yet (thanks 4chan).

That gif above is both hilariously silly while at the same time full of GAR. Not quite GARcher level, though.

I was speaking idiomatically.

Yeah, that's what I heard. I just hope another group actually pick it up.

Though that show probably won't do much good for my drinking habits...

Seriously, just ignore 4chan and try to judge the series on its own merits. I watched it as soon as it was released, and I think it's awesome. I guess you could liken it to ARIA with alcohol, or slice of life for men.

The narrative gets a bit theatrical at times, but overall it's pretty enjoyable. The story moves at a calm comfortable pace that makes it easy to watch. Being a non-drinker, I found the random informational bits on cocktails to be pretty interesting as well. And finally, the music is superb.

Here's hoping ADTRW (or someone else with sense) finishes this series.

I'm gonna be a bartender now. Those recipes at the end of the show (and each episode I imagine) are gonna be useful.

The show itself seems to be slow-paced, but I liked what I saw. I read through the manga earlier this year, and I thought it was a Shounen series. It seems I was sorely mistaken.

What, you don't want my bikini-clad body?

Good news for anyone who liked the first episode! A second sub has been released. While it doesn't assure us that we'll get the whole thing, I'd say it's a bit more likely now. Anyhow, link to the torrent for those who might be interested:

It also appears that Lunar has picked up subbing Bartender. Let's hope they do, since ADTRW is seriously known for picking up shows and dropping them, despite being a good group overall.

Also, here's to hoping ADTRW releases a second version of episode 2, because l33t-raws raws absolutely fucking blow in comparison to S^M's versions. As in, l33t-raws rescales, crops, and uses lower quality encoding.

Bartender is probably one of the most beautiful series this season, yet it has such a low interest. Yeah, it's an odd subject to focus on, but as a slice-of-life series, it works.

Is it really that surprising it has little interest? no fanservice, no jailbait , no homoerotic musclebound freaks :eyebrow:, nonetheless its seems enjoyable so far though its somewhat forgettable seeing how aimless it feels with no real plot.

If you like this, though I recommend Human Crossing a similar series that observes random peoples lives at a time of crisis.
