Odd problem loading Windows.

When I attempt to boot my computer, it will freeze "loading" Windows. No disk activity occurs at all. I reinstalled Windows and the problem came back shortly after. The hard drive that I use is fine since I am using it on my backup machine posting this thread. The only conclusion I can come to is that my system board is somehow messed up. None of the parts of the system appear to have problems. Computer specs are: Asus A8N-SLi Deluxe system board, Athlon 64 +3000, 1 GB Corsair ram, eVGA Geforce 6800GT, and the hard drive im using is a Western Digital 200GB. Any thoughts on what could be causing this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Do a RAMCheck first using MemTest86.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

Ran Memtest for 18 hours. It passed 51 and had 12 errors.
UPDATE: The computer no longer attempts to boot from the HD at all and will produce slight graphical errors when it freezes.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

To put it lightly: your RAM is dead, unless you ran Linux or have ECC RAM, you'll need to buy some replacement memory. Even HDD errors are preferable to RAM errors, since errors in RAM cause programs (especially Windows in this case) to crash.

Nope just running windows on non ecc corsair ram. I'm not sure it would boot with new memory though. When I run the ram on my backup comp, Windows will boot but restarts shortly after that. This leads me to think that there is something wrong with the system board on the main comp, since the backup computer will load windows with the ram but the main one won't. Course I could be completely wrong. I will see if I can find another stick of ram to test with the main machine when I go back home Tuesday. Thanks for all of the input.

I was speaking idiomatically.
