The Wild Arms EX File

Since we don't really have an all-inclusive Wild Arms thread, and because announcements and news articles about Wild Arms seems to be picking up nowadays, I thought I'd go ahead and create this thread for general Wild Arms discussion.

New Announcements / Release Dates

- Wild Arms Vth Vanguard (PS2) Released in Japan on December 14th, 2006 - Localization Remains Unknown.
- Wild Arms XF [Crossfire] (PSP) Announced : No Release Dates known at this time.

Screenshots / Media

- Wild Arms Vth Vanguard - 5 Magazine Scans (RPGamer - July 5 2006)
- Wild Arms Vth Vanguard - 76 Screenshots (RPGamer - September 26 2006)

Finding Older Wild Arms Titles

- Wild Arms 1 average price on eBay is between $13-$18 Used. Good luck finding it both new and cheap though.
- Wild Arms 2 average price on eBay is between $13-$15 both Used/New.
- Wild Arms 3 can be found at Wal-Mart for $9.82. This price is valid in-store as well. Better to go with this than gamble with eBay, because this is in stock in massive quantities.
- Wild Arms 4 can be found at either Wal-Mart for $19.82 (also likely in-store) or at most other online merchants for the same price. Average eBay price is between $10-$20 Used/New, so this is also an option if you can nail one before bidding wars start.

- Wild Arms: Alter Code F is now $19.99 at Gamestop/EB sold the fuck out in stores. Also confirmed to be the same price in-store. Also still includes a Bonus DVD that contains the first episode of Twilight Venom, the Wild Arms anime series mentioned below.

Anime

- Wild Arms: Twilight Venom Anime (ADV Site/Animenfo), released in 2001, 22 episodes, licensed by ADV in the US. Although not a game, it deserves a mention because it is related to the Wild Arms series. You can find it to buy at DeepDiscountDVD for $23.99 (5 disc thinpak boxset), downloading it is a tad bit more difficult because of the ADV license. If anyone finds working torrent(s) I'll add them here. A synopsis is available through either the Animenfo or DeepDiscountDVD links.

Miscellaneous

The eBay prices up there are subject to change over time, of course. I'll try to keep all the prices updated. Pray to God Agetec doesn't try and localize either of the two announced games.

I would assume that the PSP title will be platformer style like Wild Arms 4 was, given the nature of the title being "Crossfire" expressing action. Vth Vanguard, as you'll see in the released media, looks pretty nice thus far with the character designs and in-game graphics.

also lol'in at the Engrish in the image

How ya doing, buddy?

I like how Gamestop says used copes of Alter Code are free.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

LOL yeah, though if you try to add one to cart you get stopped pretty much immediately. I confirmed the $19.99 price at a local Gamestop here earlier today, though they were trying to sell me a gutted copy so I ordered one from their site instead.

But yeah, the price is pretty much confirmed.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Oh Wild Arms <3<3<3, the series I'd have a permanent av/sig for if only I could find some wonderful pics for it. I actually like Fargaia better than Filgaia, which gives the connotation of a distant wasteland in the middle of nowhere.
I wonder how much times they can change the angle up on the barren wasteland concept, and how much better the synergy and teamwork among the party members can possibly get.

As much as I hate how Agetec screwed up the localization I can't deny that I wouldn't want to play the Wild Arms 1 remake at that price point. Even if it won't play on my aging PS2 at the moment. Thanks Kossie for the heads up on the price change.

I was speaking idiomatically.

I got my copy of Alter Code F today, and it in fact does have the Bonus DVD that has the first episode of Twilight Venom with it. I'll update the first post accordingly that the bonus DVD is still shipping with it.

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?
