Can you recommend a good program for defragmenting my pagefile?
I've heard of a few, but I want to know of one that someone here uses and likes. If possible, could you give me a link or the actual file (and crack, if necessary)? Also, I use O & O defrag, and I don't think it has the ability to defragment the pagefile. Thanks.
Jam it back in, in the dark. |
Diskeeper 10 Server Enterprise. It needs no crack, though only works on XP pro. I can't say how good it does it seeing as it showed my pagefile as a solid chunk of contiguous data so I didn't bother. It has options for pre-boot defragmentations of the pagefile and even your drive's MFT though.
There's nowhere I can't reach. |
Yeah, Diskeeper can do it as part of it's pre-boot feature (as it can't defrag the pagefile once windows is loaded). Typically what I've done in the past is set my system to no pagefile at all, reboot and defrag, then when I recreate the pagefile and reboot again, it's in one continuous block and I get the benefit of still being able to use my system instead of waiting for that pre-boot defrag to run.
This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |

Use PageDefrag. It's free and you won't need any cracks.
