HAY GUYS

I have the lid removed from my version 4 PS2 always. After I shocked myself on one of the copper coils, the fan wouldn't spin anymore, even after replacing it. I replaced the fuse on the power supply even though it wasn't broken. Still nothing. I've heard there's something really tiny on the motherboard that needs replacing, but I can't solder.

I need a way to power some kind of a fan like an 80 or 120mm fan with juice from the PS2. Anyone have any ideas?

Cause you don know how, or because you won't?

Does the PS2 turn on and run without the fan being on, or are you worried about overheating?

I know how, yes, but my hands are incredibly shaky. I think I also need a new soldering iron.

The PS2 runs perfectly fine without the fan, but after about 15 minutes it overheats, so a fan is pretty much required.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Could you buy a busted PS2 on ebay, and hawk the part you need? Or do you not have any idea what part you need?

I'm not totally sure about this, but it's some kind of fuse that looks like a microchip that's soldered to the motherboard. It quite tiny (like 1 millimeter X 1 millimeter), so it's pretty much impossible to remove.

However, I saw a guy's post on another forum where he soldered the fan's wires to the large pins that connect the PSU to the motherboard. He then duct-taped the fan to the back of the PS2. It was kind of LOL, but it would work for me, considering the fan would be mounted on top of the heatsink, and not on the back of the case. I guess once I figure out the what voltages are what on the fan and PSU pins, I can just go ahead and do this.
