Does anyone attend Al-Anon meetings?

I've recently started (few months actually) attending meetings to deal with the alcoholics in my life, and its been a godsend for dealing with some of the stress and anger I go through from my dealings with them. I'm a raging codependent.

I was just curious if anyone else was also a frequent attendee of this program. I go once a week, to the same meeting and we always go out for some ice cream afterwards. I've met some really great people. How many meetings do you attend? How long have you been a member in the program? Do you actually practice the steps, or are you there simply to get feedback and relate to some of the other members? What type of meeting layouts do you prefer? Do you attend a smaller or larger meeting?

Did you have some stereotypical views of people in 12 step programs before you joined? If so, how has being in the program changed or reinforced those views?

Jam it back in, in the dark.

First of all, I love the avatar. Secondly, I have a friend who has the same major as me and she was telling me about how in one class their project was to study a subculture of society face-to-face. She wasn't allowed to join the Masons, so she decided to attend AA meetings once a week. She was shocked about some of the stories she had heard, but she felt like she really connected with the people even though she wasn't there b/c she drinks.

How ya doing, buddy?
