www.sega.co.jp, what part of Oregon are you in? Yeah Arco has the lowest prices in gas but I would never put that shit in my car. I'd rather pay 10 more cents a gallon for something I know doesn't have water in it. Most amazing jew boots ![]() "In a somewhat related statement. As much as Bush rattled on about not depending on oil and going to alternative energy sources, it's not gonna happen. They bounce around money in and out at those alternative energy source plants like a red rubber ball. Gas prices are gonna just keep going up for the rest of this administration at least and if we get somebody following him that's also involved with the oil industry, it will stay high.
If we're ever gonna get more alternative energy sources anytime soon, we need some people in the top ranks that are serious about it. (If it wasn't for the fact that Bush made one visit, they wouldn't have any money at all. Day before his administration went oops we had accidently cut their money earlier give them some so Bush don't look stupid.) I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
Gas is around $2.45 in my neck of the woods......but I drive a car that pulls down 15mpg on average. My other car does slightly better (20mpg), but it's sidelined with a bit of a mechanical malady. :aargh: I was speaking idiomatically. |
Gas Prices fluctuate anywhere from $2.80/g to $3.30 a gallon. For regular gas.
It jumped even worse in like October where there was a line at the Hess Station to get $3.39 gas. Gas prices are ridiculous but then again, I guess shit like this happens. What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
It's happening too often for my tastes. I was actually getting used to paying $2.09 at the local Cowboys. The only thing I can do now is get a smaller, fuel sipping car. It's either that, or walk.

Gas prices fluctuate pretty damn easily, sometimes in 15 minutes or less (hell, my Marketing teacher told me this 2 years ago too). Like here in Vancouver, prime time means lower gas prices so it's all good. Even hit the $.80 low that much that it created over 2m of cars lining up before gas prices inflate again. How ya doing, buddy? ![]() |

That surprised me too. Gas was fine down here, then all of a sudden it jumped about 20 cents in a day, all because of Spring Break D:
I really dont do that much driving, not as much as other people, and I'm lucky that I have a Nissan over, say..a truck, but it would really be nice if the prices could come down just a little x.x; I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
Has anyone heard as to why there was such a jump in the prices?

FYI for any Canadians out there who want to take part in the discussion...
To convert "Canadian dollars per litre" to "American dollars per gallon", just multiply the canadian price per litre by 3.26. (Converting L to Gal is easy, but the exchange rate between CA$ and US$ is obviously always in flux. My multiplier assumes 1$CAD = $0.86USD) Right now in Montreal, gas is $1.06/L. By my formula, that makes it equivalent to $3.45US per gallon. What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
Wow that really sucks. What is funny is that CAD is worth more than USD but most goods in Canada seem to be way more expensive than in the US...

No, one canadian dollar will only buy you eighty-six US cents. Generally goods aren't any more expensive.
What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
Well gasoline sure as shit is more expensive there.

Yeah. Of course $1.06... that's in Montreal (the "island" you asked about). But it wouldn't be any more than about $0.15 cheaper anywhere else, I think.
There's nowhere I can't reach. |
Anywhere else in Canada you mean? Here in Oregon we never seen 3.00 dollars a gallon for gas.

No, the "island" Chibi Neko was referring to was Newfoundland.
Here in Nova Scotia, gas costs $2.67 a gallon right now, which isn't too bad. I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
It shouldn't be that expensive in Canada, but it is. Canada doesn't receieve oil from the United States, nor does it really follow the same imports. Yet we follow the same prices as the US, they're taking advantage of the fact that the US gas prices are going up and they're just following along. It's 0.87/L here, no idea what that is in gallons.

I take it there aren't as many SUVs up there ![]() FELIPE NO |
Nope, but there will be idiots anywhere you go.

They are smaller overall with smaller engines. Not that much different than some of the subcompact cars you see here.

Yeah. And you actually don't feel intimidated when driving a smaller car there, because there are barely any SUV's on their roads, and far fewer transport trucks.
