Google for me as well. I mean all I do is type what I'm looking for in the top right hand corner of my firefox broswer and off I go.

Google, of course. Even people that are completely inept with computers tend to use Google. The built in tab in firefox is also nice.

Google is the only search engine that I use. I always set any built-in taskbar search tool to use Google. I even gave Google Desktop a try for a while, but it didn't live up to my expectations.

I actually used to use Altavista all the time, but then something switched and I became a Googler. It might have something to do with Firefox and the default engine, but the switch coincided more with me changing to my laptop from my grandma's old home computer. Go figure.

I stopped using Altavista years ago when they suddenly replaced their simple Google-esque start page with a total mess. Even now that they've gone back to basics, I'm stuck on Google out of habit.

To be truthful, it all depends on the browser I'm using.
If I'm running Internet Explorer, I typically use Yahoo since I also have a Yahoo email account in there.
If I'm running Firefox, I use Google since my homepage is iGoogle and I check my RSS feeds through Google Reader anyway.

Kind of a pointless thread really since nearly everyone will say google however for alternatives

Altavista for when I want to be as specific as hell on their advanced search

Wikipedia need I say more?

Ask.com going through a rehash lately, like you can preview pages before you open them now, but it's more a gimmick then useful feature imo. It's one of those search engines that tends to search based on popular searches rather then useful ones, but for serious features it's a quick easy way to do some tasks such as currency converting.

Dogpile searches multiple search engines if I remember correctly. It's good for audio searches.

As for what I use, Google. It's in the top right of Safari and it almost always gives me what I want.

Dogpile was how I found GFF, actually. Which is why I don't use it anymore.

Wikipedia need I say more?
Even when I want to search on Wikipedia, I just use Google. I just type the thing I want and add "wiki" to the end of it. Wikipedia's search is surprisingly bad if you don't type in the right keywords for the article.

Another googler, but:

Dogpile - Prior to google. I loved the idea of searching every single engine and the little outfits that the dog would wear depending on what holiday it was. Now it feels like information overload, unpopular, and disorganized.

Lycos/Altavista - When I first discovered the internet. I didn't know any better ;_;

Ask - What a joke. Even when I was young, I didn't think that butler could fetch me results. Phrasing in the form a question was neat, but I never fell for it since even that was a hassle.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Ok, this thread is quite silly when you consider that "google" has become a verb in the English language dictionary.
