I just woke up, so I missed the conference. I'm getting ready to watch it now. Did the intetnet explode or something as a result?

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

Does anyone think the reason the end of the conference was anti-climatic was because Sony has already decided to "copy" Nintendo in a way? I have a feeling they decided at the last minute to not reveal the super-secret thing about the system because Sony would have until November to copy it. Thoughts?

I thought the super secret thing was the speakers in the controllers?

How ya doing, buddy?

I think they felt a bigger secret was the Wii Connect 24 thing. I'll just unplug it for the night anyway, but it's a nice concept.

They aren't done unless Nintendo can actually attract the Mainstream crowd with all of this. Last time I checked, Nintendo still isn't considered 'cool' by the masses.

Videogames in general are not considered cool by the masses, no matter what EGM or TV adverts try to tell you.
It was a joke, for pete's sake. As if even a ridiculously overpriced and money-losing console would even dent Sony, much less Microsoft.

I'm only halfway through the presentation. Outside of the lame-ass trailer video, I'm really impressed by Nintendo so far. It seems that the graphics really are GC level. Haven't heard the price yet, though.

Wow, reading through the first few pages of this topic without having seen the video is hilarious.

I'm downloading it from IGN now...8%.

Go here and click on "Lo-Res Event Stream" in the Nintendo table on the right. That way you don't have to download the video before watching it. If it doesn't work properly close all other windows. The stuttering should be gone then.

Red Steel looks pretty crappy; Mario Galaxy looks a lot like Sonic Heroes. Nintendo's ideas has me excited, but I didn't see that many exciting games.

The DS's new wave of games alone beats out Sony's conference for me. Hell, I already imported "Dragon Quest - Rocket Booster" last month and it's enough fun to buy again in English. I honestly wasn't holding out much hope for Nintendo's E3 showing considering their recent history, but between the DS and the Wii this is looking to be an excellent year.

I did not know what to expect when nintendo announced the Rev way back when. After watching the Press Conference, however, I am now very excited for Wii. It really seams like it will be something special.

The remote's a little small, isn't it? Yotsuba's a little 6 year old girl, so I don't think the remote should fit so comfortably in her hand.

"Mario Galaxy looks a lot like Sonic Heroes."

Take that back right this instant.

I wasn't concerned at all about price, VC, or any of that jazz. That'll come in time, right now I just wanted to see footage, and as far as I'm concerned it looks fine.
I dunno if it'll improve significantly. That'd be nice. But I haven't seen anything on the PS3 or Xbox360 that's particularly amazing, either.
The graphical gap between Wii and the PS3 is so small as to be inconsequential. I know you can see the difference, but when you play it, if you're capable of having fun, that doesn't matter.

Wow, thanks to the guys who dug up those names/pass for that nintendo press kit thing. Awesome stuff.

Anyone else kinda bummed they didn't show any Super Smash Brothers details? I don't think they even mentioned it.

Yggdrasil, if you had bothered to read the thread then yes you'd learn we are a tad dissappointed that Smash Bros wasn't shown.

Oh and I played around in photoshop a bit to create what I think is a better standard controller by adding two buttons. It now is perfect for N64 and Genesis games. I'm not sure what you'd call the two additional buttons, maybe 'w' or 'i'. 'z' and 'c' wouldn't make sense because of the SNES button layout. Anyway here it is:

Uhh, the gap looks to be anything BUT small. Graphics are definitely not Nintendo's strong point this generation, which is the reason they want you to focus on the controller. But I don't see how people on a forum about game music can use the argument that aesthetic aspects don't matter to games...
