Don't buy MLB 2K6 360.

Holy mother of God, I thought it was jsut me, but after looking at forums like GameFaqs, people can't play the damn game. It freezes up after the first game or sooner.

So just a heads up: don't touch this buggy trash until an update is announced for download. Who knows when that will be, considering Ghost Recon is still fucked.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Ok so I guess I will just stick with my xbox version of it and not upgrade to the xbox circle version when I get an xbox circle. Thanks for the heads up man.

No one plays EA games anyway. Its called Sega Sports/Visual Concepts. Pretty much all of their versions are better anyway.

How ya doing, buddy?

What are you talking about nerd, MLB 2K6 is the one produced by Sega Sports. FYI, Sega Sports secured exclusive third party licensing rights to Major League Baseball teams and players, therefore EA could not produce a MLB game this year {hence the reason the NCAA baseball game exists}.

Oh true. For some reason I read it as MLB 2006. I thought he was referring to the 989 team. At least I think they produced that series.

I was speaking idiomatically.

Yeah they do, but of course that is a first party Sony game, which is why they were allowed to produce an MLB game this year.

Thanks for the heads up, I was about to pick this game up tomorrow. The visuals were quite impressive, real shame though but aside from that how is the gameplay handled on the 360? Last baseball game I played was the first 2K series Visual Concepts was behind on the DC. For some odd reason there was no trading players available in the game for altering rosters.

The visuals don't match what we were promised, btw. :\

Post

I wish I could say it was a problem with the disc but if many on gamefaqs are posting the exact same thing then that can't be it. My first 360 title, NBA2K6 froze during my first run at the game in the 4th quarter with 33 seconds left. My first American console and within 30-45 minutes of playtime, it freezes. I for the most part stick with Nintendo being that thier hardware is usually pretty damn durable and operates as it should but what a big letdown on behalf of M$FT to give the green light on allowing this game to be placed on store shelves.

Oh well, guess I'll be waiting on this thread to be updated with some notable news, this image really had me sold.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

It sounds like they're considering a recall of the game, I guess someone in the QA department screwed up. Reminds me of the PC version of Dead to Rights: the versions given to review sites worked fine, but for some reason there was a major bug in the shipped version that made it impossible to get through the mandatory training mission. Which basically meant that if you couldn't patch it, you could only get 5 minutes into the game.

Thumbs down

It's upsetting that developers nowadays can deliver poorly created games out there in hopes that a patch will fix what they didn't have time to do over develop of a said title. Now that consoles have access to the internet and high speed I should add, I can only see this happening more frequently than gamers would want. For those who did fork over honest hard earned money, here is a temporary fix for the matter...

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.
