www.dustloop.com is the place to go for GGXX Slash info.

Slash currently includes:

- New Mission Mode
- EX character versions
- #Reload character versions(!)
- 20 different colour selections per character
- Colour Edit (unconfirmed)
- NO new Story Mode

(Click for Official Site)

Arcade mode is the same as XX and #R, except that Order-Sol is the new boss. He's powered up in this version, much like I-No is in her final boss form. There's new character ending art upon beating the game, as well.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

So ya i wanna play a fighting game thats considered to be balanced and good and complex and i herd GG is good.
But i am SO confused there is a miilion versions and i dont know which one is the most recent and most balanced and which most people play.
So basically what do you recomend i play, and i would really like to play it online too if thats possible, i have a good PC a PS2 gamecube and x-360, which version of the game should i play and on which format.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Well the X-box version is the only online version and because it's not compatable with the 360, that one's gone. (the X-box controller sucks for fighting games anyway) I don't know about the UK but in North America we can't get reload or slash yet, so the newest Guilty Gear would be X2. (Reload only on the box here and Isuka isn't a true GG experiance). You could also get it for the PC, but it's dificult without a pad, and the music quality aint that great.

So there you have it. If you can, get Slash or XX #Reload for the PS2 go for it, but if you can't, XX will do just fine. If you decide to go hardcore later, then I'd seriously consider getting an import version of one of the other two versions mentioned for the PS2.

Where are you downloading it from? I didn't find a torrent when I searched earlier today.

Yay, the game will be finished in a few hours, and my Swap Magic should arrive today. I'll post impressions if I get all of my stuff today.

ABA is not awesome. She has like zero range. She can barely move because of the huge key. I definitely can't figure her out. Also, I'm super rusty at this series. I couldn't even remember the inputs for Johny's specials.

she takes some getting used to (kinda like zappa in her learning curve)... There isn't much room for error with her considering you can kill yourself with her moves; But if you master her moroha and moroha goku lockdowns, she can deal up to 3/4 health damaging combos

that and I think she has one of the coolest character designs ^_^

How ya doing, buddy?

Although I find bricks far more menacing, getting hit upside the head with a giant key just sounds painful.

I finished downloading it and I'm trying to unzip, but just about every computer is being a bitch to me right now. I should be playing it later tonight. TheFrenchLlama received his in the mail yesterday, so expect a post from him soon.

I played some more Order-Sol today. He's pretty interesting. Obviously, he is totally different from the normal Sol. Range seems to be really short, so I'm having trouble getting hits in to do combos. He also has the whole aspect of charge meter management which takes some getting used to. I see potential in him though. I may make him my main.

lvl2 gunblaze makes a kickass anti-air and also his new volcanic viper cannot be blocked unless absolute defended ^_^

I haven't played him yet... but he sounds like tons of fun.

Sorry for asking, but does Ky still have VT (Vapor Thrust) Loop? I can't find any info about it. I just need to know so I can stop doing it if it's not there anymore.

Actually, I find stick easier to play with, even though mine sucks really bad. Playing with a pad feels weird after a while (after playing with a stick) and then I can't even use the PS2 controller anymore. I think I got too used to the Xbox's analog control.

Wasn't Chipp supposed to receieve a major overhaul in Slash? From what I heard, his defence is now on par with Millia's,among other things. If that's true, then Chipp now can move up to at least mid-mid tier, which is awesome.

In the beta versions of Slash, Chipp was apparently very, very good, considered to be in the top tier by those who played it. In the final Slash version, he is ranked exactly around mid-mid-tier as you put it. His defense is the same as always, but he actually doesn't suffer too much from it anymore due to the lack of mega damaging combos as was the case in #Reload..

Also, Chipp gets better options overall from things like Counter Hit j.D (which causes ground bounce) as well as his new Dust teleport. His combos still do the same damage, which is considered good by Slash terms, so that's also in his favour. And his general pokes are as usual, very good.

SuperDK - Ky still has VT loop, though it's a bit less practical now I've heard, due to new combos possible by his Jump Cancellable 2H. I don't know exact specifics but I believe a general combos is:

(after launching) 5S(close), Greed Sever, 5S(c) tap up for Jump Install, 2H, sj.S-P-S, sdj.S-H, Heavy Vapour Thrust.

Ky can also spam slow Stun Edge in the corner as a lockdown. ;_;

Jam it back in, in the dark.

It's not a matter of you being stupid enough to fall for it, it's a matter of you being able to get out of the corner safely (as you can see, just jumping out is not an option).

Some characters can have problems dealing with this as they may not have a quick longer-ranged move that hits Ky, or be able to avoid it. And even if they do have a solution, Ky is still at a major advantage after his fireball is blocked; he doesn't have to throw another one. He can just block or react and punish you accordingly.

Here's a casual vid of me trying out Slash Ky against a friend's Dizzy.
The whole room was cracking up on many an occasion due to Ky silliness.

Seeing as how I use Ky almost all the time, this makes me extremely fucking happy.

PS; Elyon, do you by any chance, happen to have that avatar of Ky I used that I'm pretty sure you helped make? It was SP Square color.

chato, keep in mind that they Ky corner spam is not really too great. There's some practicality, but it was just done for flash in those vids. Most characters can just Instant Block and jump out, and others can go under, reflect it, nullify it with own projectile, use an invincible move (ie. 6P), or what have you.

ArcI, you mean this? ='D

Oh well, I'll just use VT loop to be flashy.

I've heard (from Dustloop) that the PS2 Slash is probably not Arcade perfect...so, do any of you think that matters? I mean, if tournaments are console only, then I guess it wouldn't. Then again, you'd have to totally go out of your way just to play a Slash machine.

And I believe Judgment will come out by this summer. Probably around June, if the release dates are correct.

I totally hate how GGDS looks likeis a pile of crap

Considering there are like 3 Slash arcade machines in the US and zero in the UK it shouldn't affect the west too much, I'm not so sure about Japan.

By the way, what's Judgement?
