Well, at least I can continue to play 3D games and watch 3D films without worry. I would really hate to have a lazy eye, but I am well past the age of seven and thus not really going to have to worry. I was scared for a second, but thanks for relieving that little bit of anxiety for me.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

Of course they all suck, but whatever...

How ya doing, buddy?

John Mayer just asked me, personally, through an assistant, to sing backup on his new CD.

And even then I highly doubt it will ever be the standard.
Well that's the real issue isn't it. What if it will become the standard for every TV to carry this feature. The price difference from 3D to regular LCD TV's already aren't that much here, and I doubt it'll grow.
When the price is low enough, every soccer mom and dad will be buying that 3D thing, because hell, it'll be another thing to boast to your neighboar about.
What is this HD Ready thing I don't even know, but Frank hasn't got it yet!

I'm not sure where I was going with that, but the essence is that OPINIONS such as "I never got that 3D thing anyway" and "3DS is stoopid" is all well and great, but it won't keep your child from overdosing if everybody and their neighbour has 3D stuff in their vicinity.

But did it add anything to that horrible film outside of suckering a lot of people into financing Cameron's next boat/house/shitty cartoon that was better when it had Tone-Loc in it?
Yes.

It made me wish he'd spent that 3D technology on Speed Racer instead.

(Also - props for Bots Master mention. Never could find the fucking 3D shades for that show.)

I was speaking idiomatically.

The industry will kill 3D by making EVERYTHING 3D like they have. It's too bad.

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

It's a gimmick, nothing more. What bugs me are the 3D TVs that are coming out, as if I could watch a few tv shows in 3D.... my eyes would just hurt like hell.

How ya doing, buddy?

I'm disappointed by the industry's uptake on 3D. It seems so rushed and, there seems to be so much money flying around (movie makers; television stations; electronics manufacturers) to get 3D widely accepted that if 3D fails, it feels like the entire entertainment industry is gonna crash. I for one am not going to get 3D at all, unless it's actually FORCED onto me, like the way they are phasing out analogue TV signals and only using digital TV signals here in Australia.

Many see 3D as the 'natural' progression after HD which I'm inclined to disagree, but there really isn't anything I can think of besides higher high def, so maybe it really is the next step?

As a budding film maker it's hard enough to think about the framing of a scene - position of actors, props and other elements - without having to think about the physical depth of those elements in relation to the viewer.
I wouldn't say James Cameron got it right, but the 3D in Avatar was a lot more subtle than what I've seen in other major releases in the last year, which does say a lot since he'd actually made the film with 3D in mind.
Consider the post-3D processes that studios often put their movies through. If I were the director, I would be insanely pissed off at having some random post-house converting my movie into a blurry mess, instantly destroying whatever cinematic vision I had wanted to convey. It's a total farce.

This isn't to say I don't enjoy 3D. I am absolutely shitting myself in anticipation of Tron Legacy. Considering it was also made with 3D in mind from the start, I'm expecting to have my mind BLOWN!
I'm also gonna see it in 2D for a fair comparison.

Also, may try it while high on something. For an entirely different perspective lol.
