Maris Maris Maris.

Please god let it be Maris.

I was speaking idiomatically.

John Mayer just asked me, personally, through an assistant, to sing backup on his new CD.

Maris will choose outside of race and class.

Maris will play greatest warrior from whatever country he/she hails from.

I have extended my hand to Maris, and I did beseech him to join us in our travails. 'tis all that I alone can do. Let us pray.

Pang, since you're considering tentacles grabbing allies as being adjacent, can "Weave Through the Fray" trigger for Cal when the tentacles "move adjacent to him"?

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

That's kind of — the tentacles are only "next to" him after he's already been grabbed, and by then he can't very well shift anywhere. Up until the moment the grab succeeds the Kraken is effectively just swinging a big whip at you.

Sorry

What I meant about adjacency was when Puyet (not Cal) got grabbed (he was hugged first). I was hoping the tentacles "moved adjacent" to Cal right then, and that this would apply

Just treat the tentacle as though it's occupying every space adjacent to someone being held.

Evidently you're just going to leave your post "pending" until I give you the go-ahead on this, so fine, you can Weave when Puyet gets grabbed. Geez.

Nope, just weighing things, actually. I've been jumping the gun, not thinking things over before acting.

I'm still debating whether I should duck into the house to the North (not sure where the door is) or head for the wooden deck to the northeast.

But thanks

If Maris doesn't join up, lurker must survive long enough so we can get our D&D swagger on together again.

Also considering doing the whole damn thing in Maltese Falcon Noir style this time around.

How ya doing, buddy?

If Maris doesn't join up, Deni, you will be getting your swagger on IMMEDIATELY (though lurks declines to play right now, Zerg's DMing having temporarily soured her on the business). So I would recommend cobbling something together in the event that Maris doesn't understand how to answer PMs or doesn't even remember signing up or something equally likely.

In fact (I will say this for the third time), anyone who wants to play at any point should consider having a mostly-ready character in their pocket.

Oh god I would love to run a noir adventure so much and it dovetails neatly with my intentions for the guild

I already told Pang to hold off on me until the Guild is ready. I'm a bit D&Ded out for the moment but those 20-sided dice haven't licked me for good yet!

edit: Oh, I missed that last page. This was to Deni but Pang already covered it. GJ PANG

edit2: I told you Zerg it's because I'm no good at combat STOP MAKING ME FEEL GUILTY GODDAMMIT

Lurks I have a lazy warlord waiting in the wings. Basically he doesn't attack anything, at least not competently anyway. He just stands there are tells everyone else to hit things for him.

I can build you one so you basically order everyone else around. Having a party of such lazy asses should be great fun!

I'm thinking that the "lazy warlord" gimmick would get kind of tired after the first time.

I'm also trying to build a Seeker, but man are the power choices limited. Martial Classes get all the fun

All right, Pang. I'll rip something together on Thursday. If we do go Noir, I may need to find a small Goblin of questionable gender I drag around with me named My Gal Friday.

What, you don't want my bikini-clad body?

BTW, Pang, Deni. Do you happen to have the October 2010 updates? Or did Wizards eschew it again for Essentials releases?

Based on an initial eyeball of the October Errata, I don't think it will impact any of the games here.

The CB update is supposedly scheduled for the 12th. No Monster Builder update this month, again. No Dark Sun OR Essentials material in the CB, again. Just stuff from Dragon which has been pretty goddamn scanty itself. Even if it takes a while for a cracked patch to come out you'll not be missing out on much.

Aw dang. I wanted to see how Essentials change things around with the feats no longer tiered and such (without needing to read the books).

A question for your guild system. You said you'll be using inherent bonuses so we can accessorize more. Will you be sticking to the new player gear and cash rule (level +2 item, level+1 item, level+0 item, cash equivalent to level-1 item) or will you have a separate budget calculation?

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.
