CDJapan & Debit Cards...

Just wondering if anyone here has experience with CDJapan and using one of those Visa Check/Debit cards? Just got one, but would like to hear what people think of them first...

Basically, is it worth it for those who can't use a credit card, or those like myself sick of the interest rates we are getting?

Jam it back in, in the dark.

So long as your debit card is tied to the Visa or Mastercard systems, you'll be able to use it the exact same way as a credit card.

I've never tried it with CDJapan, but there's absolutely no reason why they should turn one down, since debit purchases are exactly the same as credit purchases from their perspective.

I believe I used my debit card the last time I made a order with CDJapan. Nothing bad happened as far as I can tell.

Nothing wrong with using a debit card (I almost prefer it actually) but I would try to refrain from using it often. You see, its easy to go on a spending spree with one of those =D. So if you're anything like me, leave it at home or somewhere secure unless you actually think you'll need it.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Yeah, already used it at Play-Asia and a few other places without any problems. I heard that your bank account might get frozen for the amount purchased until it ships out though, especially with CDJapan...

Anyway, I just ordered a few things and since I am always pre-ordering in advance, I don't want to have a hold on my funds for more than a few days if needed. Guess, I'll keep an eye open on my bank account to see if the funds are temporary accessed or on hold completely. Might have to end up changing my CDJapan ordering practices of having stuff held for a month or longer. Hell, my current one won't ship until May!

Exactly. I've used my Visa debit card with CDJapan twice so far with absolutely no problems.

I'm not sure if they put a hold on the money, though, since the things I've ordered have been in stock and shipped rather quickly, so I haven't noticed.

I was speaking idiomatically.

Well, it seems the funds are no longer on hold. So, that's good. Ended up canceling next month's order, which is bad...

Oh well, it was just two CDs and I'll reorder them once I am able to have them sent, might be this month, might be next month. I would prefer not to have to deal with it, but need to stop using credit for buying CDs. So far, the debit card is coming in handy to keep my spending under control, actually.

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?
