Do they have been to limited to motion scenes? The best fighting sequence I've ever seen is the two-page spread of Spider-Man fighting Morlun in Amazing Spider-Man.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

I forgot to mention the fight between Hector and Achilles in Troy nearly at the end of the movie. That was definitely the thing that made me like the movie.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

I prefered the fight between Hector's brother and that other guy. One-sided fights can be just as entertaining. Watching the kid struggle against that beastly man was quite tense.

That was an awesome fight scene, snd one of my personal favorites. Also, I thought that Tom Yum Goong, one of Tony Jaa's other movies, had some great fighting in it, especially the fight against the Capoiera user.

You know Crimson... seeing your avatar made me remember Battle Royale and all the awesome fight scenes in that film. I didn't have any one particular fight scene, but I'll never forget the shock of having watched Kitano dispatch the first loudmouth in the class in the movie. I was sort of in shock and just thinking, "Did that motherfucker just stick that nigga?!"

I still think that it's one of the most gruesomely fun movies ever made.

I just downloaded Tom Yum Goong. I gotta say that Ong Bak was better but there was some pretty insane shit in this movie. When Tony Jaa fucking took out all those guys near the end. Every single one of those guys had at least 3 broken limbs. And the fight between Lateef Crowder and Tony Jaa was damn amazing. I also enjoyed watching a 7 foot tall muscle guy throw a baby elephant through a window.

While I tend to loathe anime in my old age, I must say that the finale to Ninja Scroll is fucking pornographic in it's awesomeness. I probably whipped it out and slapped my cock against my TV while that final fight was playing it was so fucking badass.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Hell, it's my avatar...how could I forget about Battle Royale? Probably my favorite movie of all time. Yeah, I'll never forget how the first kid died...he just whipped out a knife and chucked it at the poor girl...and it landed right in her forehead. Pretty crappy way to die.

Not to mention the fight between Kiriyama and Kawada. Made me think, "Kiriyama is one crazy asshole."

I've always liked the fight between Darth Vader and Luke from Return of the Jedi. Not as much action as say, Obi-Wan vs Anakin in Revenge on the Sith, but the dialogue between them is what makes it so good. The way he's like "Well if I can't turn you, I'll just go after your sister." to make Luke flip out was really cool. And when Luke cuts off Vader's hand, like Vader did to him... Poor guy just can't keep hands.

As for gunfights, the one from The Boondock Saints between The Saints and Rocco and El Ducce (sp?) was pretty awesome. That whole scene with Willem Dafoe describing it and acting it out alongside them was really cool.

The Lobby Scene in The Matrix is overrated.

Advent Children's showdown was pretty neat. I loved the outright over-the-topness, paired with superb CGI, editing and music.

The sword fight between the Prisoner and the villain(Can't for the life of me remember his name) at the end of Versus was pretty awesome.

But my favorite fight would be the one between Godzilla and the God Beasts during GMK.

It was actually kind of sad watching poor 'lil Baragon get his butt handed to him during his one and only battle against Godzilla, especially right at the end when Godzilla gets ready to throw the final blow and he raises his head up to get one last look at he demon that he was loosing to.

The look on Baragons face was priceless!!.

The Best Fight Scene Ever award goes to a pretty obscure movie called Drive starring Mark Dacascos. I don't think the movie was officially released in US,which is rather strange, considering that it's completely in English. Anyway,Dacascos plays a guy a runaway from the Yakuza who want to get their hands on the experimental psionic booster implanted into his heart. Lemme tell you,the fight scenes have to be seen to be believed... O_o I've seen some crazy shit over the years, being a martial arts movie fan and all,but this one takes the cake. One hundred seventeen minutes of pure,straight-out PWNAGE. Dacascos moves at nearly superhuman speed, opening up cans of whoopass left and right.
Most Memorable Fighting Scene:
The Final Showdown - Dacascos versus the Trenchcoat-Sportin'-Evil-Henchman-Dude-with-Sunglasses-Who-Happens-to-Have-a-Shitload-of-Turboimplants-in-Him.
Runner-Up:
Dacascos takes on a entire squad of evil henchmen with electric nightsticks, trashing the entire motel AND garage while using every single object in the vicinity to inflict pain upon the infidels,Jackie Chan-style.

DRIVE? Hahaha. Best bad movie ever.

Well, actually, not really, but it has Marc Dacascos soit automatically wins. It has been released domestically and aired on HBO a few years ago. As laughably bad as the movie might have been, Dacascos is a talented martial artist. It's kind of funny, actually: a martial arts instructor I had in middle school is good friends with Dacascos.

I was speaking idiomatically.
