Well, it's basically Bioware Game.

It's pretty much the same game it was the last 6 times, but some people like that game.

(not that I fault bioware for making the same game over and over with different settings, since it seems to sell)

Except that Mass Effect was a steaming pile, where as Dragon Age is actually interesting. Other than that, sure.

Total opposite for me. Theres nothing to chew on in DA:O; hell, your character doesn't even talk during discussions.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Total opposite for me. Theres nothing to chew on in DA:O; hell, your character doesn't even talk during discussions.
For me, your character is the least interesting point in the game. If Brady were here, he'd talk about blandness and immersion into a character but I'll let him play with that. The thing that got me was the secondary characters. Mass Effect was painfully bad in regards of the people running alongside you. Their opinions changed based on absolutely nothing but needing a pro and con side to the conversations you had, there was no lore to the world and the story unfolded terribly. In DA you had characters motivated by their own reasons, that were static and didn't shift without reason. The voice acting was good (god. male shepard. so bad.) and the lore behind the world was incredibly in depth.

I'm not saying Pang's wrong about Bioware making the same type of game, they clearly do, I'm saying he's wrong when he says this team is just a carbon copy of those that came before. DA is hardly a Mass Effect clone beyond the combat system. You have to look at it the way you look at FFT. 90% of the game is contained in the updating lore in the party menu. If all you want is a fighting runthrough, fine, but you'll miss half the fun. Clearly won't be for everyone, but to say it's exactly the same as its predecessors just isn't fair.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

Bought a couple of iPhone games on the app store: Canabalt (which I'm sure you've all played the flash version of; if not, GET TO IT) and Beneath a Steel Sky, which I last played when I was... Eight? So far only played the first few minutes, and though they killed the Foster's product placement () the conversion is perfect thusfar.

Played the system today. Got a late Christmas gift today, but returned it to Zellers for the Uncharted + PS3 Controller Combo package at that they have going on for $55. After I got home, I opened it up to find that the controller inside was packaged like a regular controller, and had no 'Not for resale' labels on it.

So... I took the controller to Walmart and 'exchanged' it for Bayonetta. The difference was $5.55. I'm quite pleased, to be honest.

I was speaking idiomatically.

In the past week, I've blown at least, well, WAYYYY too much money on games.

Bought Mass Effect 3 FUCKING TIMES!!! Why? I'll tell you.

First time - used a gift card to pay for a used copy while I was picking up Bayonetta (which I still have yet to pop in the 360). Got home, the chick gave me the Bonus DVD, not the game. Twas 8:30, and the bridge directly in front between my house and the store is out. Pointless in going back, especially since it was the only thing they had in the whole store.

Second time - Went pick it up when I went out for a DDR session, again, a used copy, but from a more reliable person and store. Got home, popped it in, about 20 or so minutes into it, the disc goes "unreadable". Looked fine to me, but at that point, I was just annoyed with it, so...

Third time - right after I got the error mid-game, I basically spent an hour downloading the full game from Games on Demand.

Frankly, I would have liked to have at least beaten this game ONCE!!! before my DJ DAO beatmaniaIIDX controller comes in sometime next week (btw, that was $600, hence spending WAYYYY too much money), because once that comes in, I'll be lucky to pull away to go pick up Mass Effect 2 and MAG.

$7, couldn't pass it up. The cover alone is worth that much. I also got Bayonetta! It's a great dildo.

So while its fairly obvious, I feel I should point out that I got Mass Effect 2, the Collector's Edition... just waiting on it to arrive in the mail.

Speaking of purchases: Psychonauts is currently TWO dollars on Steam. You'd pay more for lunch at Subway people, I mean come on. Hurry while the price lasts.

Jam it back in, in the dark.
