Brett Favre just will not go away already.
So now he's back, signing today with the Minnesota Vikings. Apparently he signed for $10-12 million a year pending a physical. Two things on this...
1) I might care if he hasn't pulled this BS 3 or 4 times already now. I wish he would just stay retired, but he's a bigger drama queen than most of the GFFers that post in The Quiet Place. WHAAAAAAAA! LOOK AT ME.. 2) Now we get to see Stuart Scott and Chris Berman banter back and forth about it because apparently ESPN forgot to actually show highlights of the games and would rather report tabloid crap. Tonight's SportsCenter is now gonna be like that scene in Being John Malkovich, but instead of saying 'John Malkovich', they'll be saying 'Brett Favre' over and over again. Anyone else care or do they want him to go away permanently like I do. Jam it back in, in the dark. I have nothing clever to put here. |
[AP - CEDAR RAPIDS] In more recent news, unconfirmed reports are coming in that indicate Mr. Favre's private flight from his home in Mississippi en route to Minnesota is, "just fucking going in circles," somewhere over Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Indications are Mr. Favre still has "lingering doubts" about his return to professional football and is currently instructing his pilot as he has second, third, fourth and fifth thoughts.
There's nowhere I can't reach. ![]() |
My problem with Brett Favre really isn't so much that he should just stop playing already; it's, as you pointed out, that he's done this retirement dance for like 6 years or something now. I don't care if he's old if he's still got talent, and I think he does, so by all means he should play. But this back and forth "look at me" bullshit is just that. If the man never wanted to give up the game because he loves it so much, then why's he been doing the retirement shuffle for so long. If it's an issue of money, well, every sportcasting outlet on television seems to have room for washed up athletes and Favre doesn't really seem like a blockhead.
This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. ![]() |
