I agree. I've barely touched the main quest - but I'm the arena grand champion and will now be spending my time doing Mages Guild quests. I've been playing for almost 17 hours and I've barely touched the main story.

Same here... Whenever I do touch the main quest, it's not really because I want to, it's just because I feel like I need to. Then after a little bit, I go back to other quests. To me, the main quest is the most boring quest chain I've encountered.

I was speaking idiomatically.

Finally got to play this over the weekend at my dad's house. I had to put the setting fairly low, but holy shit it's awesome. So far I still like the Morrowind area a bit better, though I can't put my finger on WHY exactly...

Anywho, I've got a question about game saves for Oblivion (and Morrowind too, but I figure it's the same for both so whatever.) I started my game on one computer, but I want to continue my quest on another computer. Is there any way I could possibly do this? Is there any way I could switch back and forth between two computers and continue the same quest on both?

Yeah, saves are under My Documents/My Games/Oblivion/Saves, you can copy them back and forth (just make sure you remember to always bring the latest version). I'm pretty sure that works, though I haven't tried it myself. Perhaps it's a good idea to make a backup of the whole Oblivion directory just in case.

Am I the only one here that has over a dozen mods installed? I'm so used to them that I don't think that I'd be able to play the game without them.

What, you don't want my bikini-clad body?

Mucknuggle: I decided to hold off on the 24 hours mod for now, but I did find a very nice one: All it does it colorize the map when you go to F4. Instead of a bland Sephia map, you now have grass and snow, wee! Its a very small mod, but its something that I think they should have added to the official release.

I did use a cure vampirism mod, because I got stuck on getting the cure, as the woman wouldn't take the last two ingrediants (Take the fucking Nightshade!).

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Grab the two lose pipes (put them in your inventory - yes it'll fit) and then simple use the wheels you see. After that you can beat Maglir =3

Ah, thank you. Because you wrote that I'd fight M, I killed him before he started the conversation. That earned me a murder, so that quest lead me into the arms of the Dark Brotherhood. Weee

Has anyone seen/heard about any modders working on a zoomable map mod?

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Hey check it out!

Bethesda is gonna charge PC users for downloadable content, akin to how it's done on Xbox Live! GREAT THINKING GUYS!

You'll laugh at what they're offering. No, really...

If you're interested in outfitting your horse with a spiffy armor pack, it'll set you back 200 Microsoft Points (roughly $2.50). PC owners aren't out of luck, though, as Bethseda confirmed to 1UP the same content will be available on their website later today or tomorrow morning for exactly 50 cents cheaper at $1.99.

Still cool and still have points left, so I will get it. But doesn't bethesda know ONE PC user will buy it and distribute it to every other Oblivion player.

I'd love to see my unicorn look like that...

Anyway, I feel massively silly for asking about this game all the time, but... you know, anyway:

I've found a walkthrough whih tells you how to obtain the Skeleton Key (Unlimited lockpicks, essentially...) but I have to find a Shrine. The describtion n the walkthrough confuses the hell outta me*, so if anyone knows exactly where to find the shrine, I'd be grateful.

*Really, it does. It doesn't make any sense to me;_;

I think this is what youre looking for: http://boards.gamefaqs.com/gfaqs/gen...7296684&page=1

I just started playing myself. wood elf archer/thief type thing. solved some quest where someone was buying goods from a graverobber, that was pretty cool. might join teh thieves guild next maybe.

200 points for horse armour? how about NO. I paid $100 (australian) for this game, is that not enough?

When someone offers that horse armor to the general public (I.E. people who dont' wanna pay extra for what SHOULD be free, I.E., any non dumbfuck) hit this thread up with the links.

I imagine that problem was resolved something like this:
Bob: "Hey Joe, since Xbox 360 members can pay for extra content, lets release this horse armor for like 2 Bucks."
Joe: "K, but what about the PC users?"
Bob: "Oh, yeah do the same thing, but make it a bit cheaper (He says while recieving a blowjob from Clara in accounting)."
Joe: "But what about the users dis--"
Bob: "Can't talk, getting head."

---

I was feeling unusually sleepy yesterday, so I paused Oblivion, laid the fuck down, and passed the fuck out, and when I woke up at like 4am, I resumed playing right where I left off for about a half hour

Oblivion Screensaver FTW!

I saw an IGN Insider movie about horses with armor - and now the horses look silly. Money for that? You got the Collector's Edition for $60,- and they dare to charge for something they wanted to implent in the retail game? Ridicilous.

Why are people calling Oblivion the best game ever? I don't even think it qualifies as the best RPG ever. The best PC RPG ever? No.. not that either.

Don't get me wrong. I like the game and have enjoyed playing it so far, but aside from its graphics, it's nothing revolutionary. Once the novelty wears off, I think people will realize this as well.

I don't see why. Some people feel like Morrowind is the best PC-RPG ever and IMO this game improves on it 100 fold. You are also totally forgetting user mods which will enhance the game quite a bit too the more they flood in. In a year or so there could be some pretty amazing mods or maybe even an impressive expansion or two. You're really selling the game short.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

I don't think that I am really. =\ It's just that there's nothing revolutionary about it. I agree that the mods will add a lot of life to the game, but those are user-created so they don't add to the merit of the actual game. The ability to mod through the TESCS IS to the game's credit though so I'll give Bethesda that.

Maybe I just had too high of expectations and maybe the fact that I didn't like Morrowind factors into it, but I'm not saying it's a bad game. I enjoy playing Oblivion, but what I'm saying is that it's not THE best game out there.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

I actually hate the levelling system in this game. It's absurd. Mods have fixed that however. I definitely don't think that this is the best RPG ever though. It's fun, but personally, I prefer Jap style RPGs.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Hey Mcknuggle, which mod are you talking about? I really dislike this leveling system too. For something they claim to be a "natural way" of leveling up by using skills, it ends up being very contrived where people will jump endlessly or autorun into a wall just to level up acrobatics and athletics. I'd like to check out these mods if you have links to them.
