I figured I would send a brief list of some examples of abuse I can think of off the top of my head.



-Work crew boys were lead around on leashes forced to act like dogs and bark for food.

-Boys were threatened with “restraining” if they did not do as they were told.

-Boys were forced to sit outside in the snow for hours.

-Run laps in the snow bare foot in just their pajamas.

-Their hands were taped together with duct tape.

-Boys were strip searched for “drugs” as a punishment and to humiliate them in front of other boys.

-Boys were put on “suicide” watch as punishment forced to lay on a mattress in the middle of the room with all the light on and loud music playing.

-They were sleep deprived and harassed while sleeping.

-Awakened every hour by “night staff”

-Boys would be physically restrained for no reason at all

-One boy’s restraining was so violent it causes a hernia

- Suicide attempts were a dime a dozen these boys were physical punished and threatened with more violence if they tried again

- As punishment younger boys would be placed in rooms with older boys who would sometimes abuse them

- Boys were punished for thinking they were homosexual as it was a “sin” and were put on work crew

-Boys were restrained for not praying

-Restrained for not reading the book of Mormon

- Chris Buttars would threaten to keep boys until they were 21,because he was a senator and had that power, apparently there was nothing your parents could do.

- When boys would complain to parents about conditions they were punished and their parents were told the boys were simply lying and trying to manipulate them.

- Forced to eat food off the floor.

- Forced to eat entire raw onions.

- One entire home was forced to lay in lock down position for an entire weekend, urinating was not allowed

- One boy was dragged around by needle nose pliers in the nose and threatened to have his nose ripped off.

-Desks were throw at boys

-Desks were thrown, while boys were sitting in them.

- Not allowed to eat, or only given partial meals



That is what I remember however I know many more things happened and most of these instances were quite frequent in occurrence.



If you requested to call the police or an attorney you were restrained and put on work crew. These were not hidden events they were right in the middle of the cafeterias or classrooms and no one ever did anything to stop it!

"Get back in line and stand at attention," Ray yelled. I blindly followed orders and learned the ropes of what you could and could not do on work crew. You had to stand at attention, ask permission to scratch, go to the bathroom, eat, etc. I went from being a child in the 9th grade to being treated like an animal in the span of a morning. And I realized that there were no rules for these people and that they operated on their own set of rules. They could beat us to a bloody pulp and then tell us that if we ever told our parents "we would restart our programs" -- in essence giving us another 6 months. It was a never ending cycle with no way out but conformity. All I could think the whole time I was there was, is this all really worth it? Day after day scandal after scandal beating after beating molestation after molestation and there was no one that I could turn to. I tried to tell my parents about all the bad things that I witnessed there but they would tell me that the ranch had prepared them for this and that they already knew that everything I was telling them was just another manipulation and I was just trying to manipulate their emotions. The ranch told the parents to report any bad talk about the ranch, and we would be put on work crew in a blanket. So the truth rarely if ever got out in time.

The day dragged on and I fell more and more into despair. They marched us around for the whole day having us doing work like scrubbing bathroom floors, pulling weeds and planting flowers, cleaning the kitchen, etc. We were not aloud to talk to anyone and If we did we were punished. Finally, after the truth had set in and I realized my fate for the next 6 months I decided to give up. Just to stop . I have always had a high tolerance for pain. I set my mind to it and I wanted these guys to think I was crazy or unfit for there program , so as they were marching us across the campus I Stopped in and laid down on the ground and just closed my eyes and waited.

"What the Hell is the hold up?" yelled another work crew guy named Rob Rattigan. "What are you doing!? Get up your holding up my line."



"Nope I’m done you can sit there and hurt me all you want I’m not movin," I said.



And hurt me he did. He started out by kicking me in the side but I didn’t even flinch I just laid there and shut my eyes and waited for it to be over. Rattigan grabbed another staff and they tried to force me into standing by putting me straight up and down but I just collapsed and smacked the pavement. After about 3 hours of torture bending my arms the wrong way, bending my fingers back , applying pain to every pressure point on my body including ones I never knew I had, they finally gave up. But the thing I wasn’t aware of (Not that I would care if I did know) was that lunch was just around the corner and the other kids on work crew were getting restless and hungry and just wanted this to be over.

“Get up its time for lunch.” Rob yelled at me. I didn’t budge. He continued to yell at me for the next 20 minutes but I wouldn’t move or acknowledge his existence.

“Ok have it your way.” And with that rob and the other staff member Chris Teehan grabbed me by my arms and proceeded to drag me across the campus. At first I just sat there limp but as the dragged me closer to the door I felt the blanket and then my whitey-tighties drag off on the lawn.

“Ok Ok ill get up I’ll get up!.” but they weren’t listening they dragged me right into the cafeteria and threw my naked body up against the wall as the entire cafeteria of boys exploded in laughter.

That was the start of the worst experience of my entire life up to date. I witnessed brutal beatings. Suicides . Perverted and heinous sex acts of boys to each other or staff to the boys. I could go on for hours but as of now my time is limited I may submit more in the future but for now this is my story.

Wait, is this that one down somewhere in the Carribean where the kids are kidnapped from their parents' house and flown there while in a bag and there's routine suicides? Because last I read about that I don't remember it being Mormon at all.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

The Boys Camp linked in the Daily Kos article is run by Mormons. Tranquility Bay is an entirely different operation altogether, but with similar results.

WWASP is run by a Mormon. They're headquartered in Utah. They don't advertise the fact that the organization is run by Mormons because people wouldn't send their kids to their camps.
