Interesting that they are making a Turtles game without there being a current commodity item to attach it to. Makes me wonder what kind of art style they'll use and such. Either way, more fighting games similar to Smash Bros will be good for all who appreciate that style. Get some diversity and new perspective on design that way.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Part of the fun of a game like Smash Bros. was the ridiculous line up of characters, play as Link and being able to smack the crap out of Mario. I'm not entirely sure why you'd want to make a direct rival to Smash Bros. unless you were making it for other platforms, which I'm guessing isn't the case here (since the link is 'gonintendo'). Strikes me as an odd move.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

I wish they'd just make a digitally-distributed side-scrolling beat-'em-up like the old Turtles games (e.g. Manhattan Project or Turtles in Time), either Mega Man 9 or Bionic Commando: Rearmed style. Those games were so fun in co-op.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

^ I played that, or at least I think it was that, on the PS2. The multiplayer was fun, but it got repetitive very fast. Lucky for me it was only a rental.

As for the game, if the Brawl and Team Ninja staff are both working on, the combat will probably be well done. Omagnus: They did mention unlockable characters, so perhaps they'll be injecting some lesser known characters (Bebop & Rocksteady?) into the fray.

How ya doing, buddy?

I want to be able to fight using Krang and Chang and perhaps Baxter Stockman from the Animated series. Fuck yeah.

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

Bebop and Rocksteady are not lesser known characters.

Bebop and Rocksteady are not lesser known characters.
They are compared to the 4 Turtles, which was what I meant.

That would basically make every other character in TMNT a 'lesser known character'. Also, at what point did I say I cared what character would be included, my point was that part of the appeal of Smash Bros. is the character roster, not that it has more than four characters.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Sure, but that doesn't mean the character still aren't popular, but for most people when they hear Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles they think of the four turtles, but that's not the point of this thread.

I never said you said that in the first place.

What I was going off of was: "Part of the fun of a game like Smash Bros. was the ridiculous line up of characters", and I was saying that, perhaps since Unlockable Characters were mentioned,
you might get a ridiculous line-up, which you said is a part of the appeal.

Let me try this again. Part of the appeal of Smash Bros. (I find), is the specific character roster included; i.e. the fact that it is Mario, Link, Donkey Kong, Pikachu, etc, etc, etc.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Alright, that seems to make more sense.

Also after re-reading though things, I guess I have to point out that I was just using those two characters (B&R) as an example; and I was not implying that you or someone else wanted or didn't want them included in particular; which I thought was obvious, but HEY GUESS NOT.

Sounds interesting but if they wanted to go wacky mixed character universe route it would be amusing to do a Turtles VS. Ubisoft game. Raving Rabid vs. Raphael vs. Sam Fisher vs. Master Splinter.

I was speaking idiomatically.

The success of failure of this game for me will hinge on whether you are able to play as Shredder and rip chunks out of that annoying April bitch in her stupid-ass yellow jump suit. It being a Nintendo game though I'm guessing we won't be seeing much in the way of red pixel spray in this one.

There's always Mad World, Shin. Though, well, no April there. I don't even own a fucking Wii.

This has easy awesome potential. TMNT Tournament Fighters was one of my favorites back in the day. There are a lot of characters that are going to show up in this game to make it awesome.

That episode of the original cartoon series where Shredder sliced April open and ate her intestines with some turtle soup was so awesome. Then when he started laughing with his hands on his hips despite sitting down and caught the attention of Gargamel who was also laughing at his Smurf lunch, leaking their little legs out of his nose because he was trying to hold his joy in but couldn't quite do it. Then they gave each other handjobs on a boat.

Fuck.

They don't make them like they used to.

Also this game is already doomed because it's by Ubisoft for a Nintendo system.

IMAGINE: TURTLEZ

I'll keep an eye on this one! I was big into the turtles for like a week when I was a kid. Maybe it'll rekindle those childhood memories which barely existed in the first place. Actually, now that I've worn all the fun value out of Brawl, I'm just looking for an excuse to not flog my Wii.

There's nowhere I can't reach.
