The new M33 firmwares support Skype, and you should be able to use it regardless of if you update to the official or the M33 firmware.
This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
Hey, I know this is a huge bump but I really don't want to make a thread on PSPs just to ask one asinine question. This asinine question I speak of is:
I've read that the PSP formats its Memory Sticks Duo cards as FAT32 and only up to 4 GB. I have an 8 GB card that seems to be working fine for the time being full of music and a couple of videos on it but I don't want to risk losing all my data on it if it turns out that the FAT32 system corrupts my shit. Is this a legitimate concern? I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
I know PS3 uses FAT32 for HDD and USB sticks, so it would be logical to assume the PSP does too since the old PS3s read memory stick pro duos.
The space limit is bull though. The maximum file size on a FAT32 is 2GB yes, but I don't think it limits the stick itself to 4GB. I mean, there's official 16GB memory sticks (plus Wipeout Pulse) and I doubt even Sony is stupid enough to pull off an oversight like that. It used to be that the PSP couldn't handle memory sticks over 2GB, but that was fixed with a firmware update ages ago. If there's ever been a limit for 4GB, it's been fixed as well. Heh.. I remember that being a bitch and took me 5 hours to understand that shit but got it work perfectly again. Anyway, just stuff this bitch folder in the root of your mem stick. Make sure certain modules ,etc are enabled through Recovery Mode.

Can anyone recommend a good avi to mp4 converter for handheld porn purposes?
There's nowhere I can't reach. |
That app has a clean gui and the conversion times are pretty fast, the only thing missing is that it doesn't produce a thumbnail for each movie, but that's not important.
Cheers. I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
I hadn't realized that there's more PSPs in the U.S. than Xbox 360's?
WorthPlaying - Xbox 360 (X360) , PlayStation 3 (PS3), Nintendo Wii, Xbox, PlayStation 2 (PS2), GameCube (NGC), PSP, Nintendo DS (NDS), GBA, Windows PC - All about games ! Also, it outsold the PS3 during the December holiday season. So, that being said, why isn't there more development for the PSP? Besides ports. What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

Wouldn't you need a pretty large memory card to hold any significant amount of them? Unless I'm overestimating the size of PSP games in their image file...
*goes to check* Yeah, they're 1 gig a game, it seems, or at least using Crisis Core as a benchmark. Holding any significant number of games would require a fair amount of memory sticks. Then again, there aren't THAT many games that are really worth getting (at least IMO) and memory sticks are dirt cheap. Either way, I've bought all of my games. Memory stick space is regulated to PS1 images and other emulators/homebrew apps. As for why I think less games find development time on PSP, I'd think it's probably also due to the fact that none of them are really marketed when they do release. Outside of stuff like Crisis Core or God of War and such, none of the other games get much attention. This eventually leads to not many people really noticing many of them, and less software actually gets bought, which makes it harder for devs to recoup their developing costs. Ports already have the majority of their work done, so it's cheap to make and easy to turn a profit. But I suppose all of this is already obvious. What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
![]() ![]() Did you know...You don't need to keep all the games on the memory card at the same time? Just load the ones you're currently playing and keep the rest on your HD for good times in the future! Jam it back in, in the dark. |
so it was real PSP GO:

No UMD drive, huh. I wonder if they'll retrofit the PSP's current game library or alienate any new adopters. Will they continue to support the PSP-3000, or will it be abandoned in favor of this?

for now that are saying that the psp go is an alternative to the psp 3000, so they are still planing to sell the psp 3000 at same time the psp go.
From the video they are saying that current umd library will come in a downloadable content, but we heard the same thing for ps1 game on the ps3, so I'm still skeptic about that... Most amazing jew boots ![]() |
Wow. The original PSP was kind of lackluster, but this video makes the new model look pretty fucking sweet. I guess now that high speed net connections are commonplace, they can afford to move to a 100% digital distro model...
I was speaking idiomatically. |
I was expecting Sony to do a PSP2 with a second analog stick, perhaps touchscreen, and upgraded hardware specs. This is kind of disappointing in that regard. And why does this thing look like a cheap cellphone? Since they're keeping this as a PSP in most regards besides it has storage for games instead of umd lol I can understand why they wouldn't have a second analog stick but just look at those start and select buttons. It's fucking blatant that that's where a second analog stick should have gone. I guess we'll be waiting another year or two before the successor shows its face. Just in time for Nintendo to finally pull its head out of its ass as well I suppose.

Ok really, no UMD drive? Am I the only one who likes to own a physical copy of games? Well as long as they release the cases like they did with Patapon 2 it wont be that bad, but still I prefer to own a physical copy of the games. I also like the older PSP models, the fat ones. The ones after that just feel way too damn light and cheap. And did the guy said a new Metal Gear game? Damn it, I was expecting it to be for the PS3 instead.

So you'd really rather buy a box with a piece of cardboard containing a one time use code than just go online and download it in the first place?

Well, Dagobert, this was a solution. I'm just in favor of any steps towards a UMD-less world. It's still not the solution but it'll do.
