Help me identify this game!
I didn't get to game much when I was growing up, so recently I've been going back and getting all those games I tried at friends houses that I never got to really play when I was a kid. I've gone back and found nearly all of them, but I need help identifying a PC game.
I've talked to all my friends who I grew up with, but for the life of me I can't figure out what this game is, probably because I can't remember it very well at all. It was a PC game, probably came out around 1993. I believe the view was third person, a male character you could move around, and I remember he has a butterfly net (although I don't think that was the only thing he could use). The detail that would possibly give the best clue is that this game was on all my school computers right after they switched from Apple to PC, but I do not remember it being an educational game. I know that doesn't give you much, but if anyone can help me identify this game with these horribly vague clues, its GFF! Most amazing jew boots |

Ok, I have one, too. It's an Amiga 500 game, I think. Basically it had an isometric POV, you run around rooms filled with traps and such, I think you had a weak gun, too. There were these portions where you "drive" (more like move), isometrically, through a series of 3 parallel tunnels to get to the end.
Any idea? Most amazing jew boots |
Might as well toss in my two cents also since it's been driving me crazy since my first cruise.
It was an arcade game that was in Egypt. Light-gun shooter where you were able to choose three different kinds of magic bullets (more you get the weaker each shot, less you get the more powerful). The two main characters were archaeologists and were trying to find treasure and crap. The thing about the game was that each area was randomly generated as you went along. The guns themselves were also shaped somewhat like snake heads or something alone those lines. I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
Google turned up "The Maze of the Kings":
No luck with the Amiga game, sorry. I was speaking idiomatically.

![]() Thanks, Dhsu. This is the game. ![]() What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
It was always such a big deal when you finally finished, and actually took the time to get all the treasures, because it meant that you took you're entire typing class and recess to get the game done. Separated the men from the boys.... ...From the gamers. Here's a pic: ![]() FELIPE NO

One for the really old people here now. My friend used to have a game on the Spectrum 128 which was a kind of space rpg I guess. You had a team made up of a couple of guys, some chick and a big round ball thing and you chose their weapons then headed out into this alien spaceship to explore. The view was top-down map style and being a Spectrum 128 there were about 8 colours involved. You bumped into aliens occasionally and I think you had to find some control room or something. Basically I was ten when I played it and I don't think we ever really understood what we were doing and as such, never came close to beating it (Although as it was a Spectrum game, chances are it would have been fucking impossible even if you knew what you were doing, Jet Set Willy anyone?). What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? ![]() |
Top-down view, then it's probably Shadowfire. If not then Enigma Force, its sequel. Admittedly, I've only played Enigma Force and it was one of few Speccy games I managed to beat back then with the help of some tips from an old Sinclair User mag. You also had more than one way to go about your objective (i.e. capturing General Zoff, making him lead you to the shuttle or killing outright him and obtaining his keycard. The latter was usually the easier option). Excellent game that.

Fuck me you're right, it was Shadowfire. Colour me impressed that you got that from my crappy description. Let's hope that 22 years later I'm a bit better at the game...
